I have never been into fast food, so, although five of my relatives work or have worked at a Chick-fil-A, I have rarely had their food.
However, when my church, Rez, started ordering their wraps for events, I was pleasantly surprised. But my favorite is the Spicy Southwest Salad with romaine lettuce, grilled chicken breast, chili lime pepitas, seasoned tortilla strips and avocado lime ranch dressing. Warning... It's 760 calories, but oh so yummy.
Today I went there in-between doctor appointments and settled myself, and my walker, at a booth in back looking out at some trees. My daughter joined me during a 20 minute lunch break. But I was mostly alone.
I was there 10:45am - 12:45pm so it was really busy. But I noticed that individuals and families who came and went were all smiling and the staff were bustling about with smiles, asking if anyone needed anything. Honestly, it seemed a little creepy.
As I wrote in my journal about some intense challenges I am facing physically and emotionally, I felt myself settle from shaking to the core in dispair, to a sense of peace that should not have made sense in a fast food restaurant.
I realized that calming instrumental music was playing in the background.
After navigating my walker to drop off my trash, I went to the counter to get some of their amazing ice. A young darling female employee (Makayla, I think), offered to carry it out to my car for me even though it was so busy.
Then I remembered that I had heard that Chick-fil-a was started by Christians and was closed on Sundays so all staff were free to worship on Sundays if they wished to.
I know that the company does not discrimate. I've known people from all backgrounds and beliefs, many that are anti-religion, who love(d) working there.
So, with so many things to celebrate, how could I give anything less than a 5 star rating?
I commend the franchisees who have made my (yes, I will now say "my") local Chick-fil-a a great place to eat, hang out and work. Thank you! I hope you have time to read this and are honored...
Read moreUpdate: Sadly, I have to change my review. We've had several issues with order accuracy at this location over the past few months. Today was one of those instances. I usually overlook these issues because mistakes happen. Tonight, they made the small mistake of putting extra pickles instead of no pickles on my sandwich. (Those who despise pickles can relate to my disappointment.) I called 10 times between 5:50 pm and 6:15 pm. No one answered the phone. We had just gotten home after spending all day at the emergency room. I hadn't eaten all day. I didn't have the energy to load up the kids again and head back to the restaurant (kids' orders were correct, fortunately). I hoped they could bring me a replacement as they've done in the past when they've made a mistake. But, they never answered. It was the rotten cherry on top of a long, rough day. I ended up calling Chick-fil-A Cares (corporate) since the location was failing to rectify the issue and reporting the issue tomorrow might seem suspicious. The agent informed me he would email the location immediately for a swift solution. No solution came until a few hours later when corporate (not the location) sent me an email thanking me for my feedback and offering a free replacement sandwich and a cookie after no local response. All in all, it was a small mistake that they chose to ignore. This location fell short on delivering basic quality service, much less their signature second mile service. Management needs to reevaluate their priorities if answering the phone is deemed unimportant or unnecessary. An employee making a mistake isn't a big deal, but management/leadership ignoring customers...
Read moreThese workers LITERALLY were so genuinely kind that they made me and my wife cry. A month ago, our car broke down in the middle of the drive-thru on our WEDDING DAY right after we got married (and yes we went to Chic fil a after getting married because it's the Lord's chicken) and immediately two of the workers outside taking orders got behind our car and started pushing it with me. We got up to the window and the manager guy saw that we were in our wedding clothes and our car was broken down and he immediately told his workers to void the order so we could get our food for free. They were so kind and pushed our car out into their reserved parking spot and told us we could leave it there as long as we needed and they came out and check on us multiple times and even tried jumping it for us. They brought us like 4 free desserts while we waited because they felt so bad for us and just were so genuinely kind that my wife and I were tearing up. We left our car there for days and when we finally came to tow it home they helped push the car onto the tow hitch thing. These are genuinely beautiful people at this location and we will always remember them whenever we think of our wedding day haha. Thank you guys. And we will always support Chic fil A. It consistently has the...
