TLDR: It's a sad place to be, buyer beware.

Terribly sad shopping experience. The store is so dark, the displays are a complete mess and the return policy is super stingy. The staff are rude to each other, in front of customers, and all seem to wish they were any where but there, being there standing in line makes me feel the same.
I went twice to return my daughter's bday gift, two tops that were way off size. A friend gave it to her in the shipping bag it came in, but no order form or receipt. We tried to find the order my friend's email or number, but couldn't be found. They couldn't look it up using the shipping label either. We left and a few days later I got my friend to send her order form. We don't live near the mall and my daughter is reliant on me to drive her and so when I finally was able to get her to the mall to make an exchange, we were outside the 30 day return policy by a week. Again, not trying to get money back, just exchange and we were met with uh, yeah, we can't do that.
It's clear that the staff is not interested in going above and beyond in customer service, they're barely able to meet the low bar of just being present. It's a sad place to be,...
Read moreWe took kids for back to school shopping. My daughter wore one of the pairs of pants we had bought for her ONCE!!!! One of the buckles attached to the waist completely broke in the middle of her first day of school. I was shocked as the buckle seemed to be a metal material so you would have thought the quality was better. I took the pants... clearly defective, with the broken piece of the buckle back to the store WITH THE RECEIPT showing they had been purchased less than 30 days ago. They had the same pants in the store.... the girl working the register told me they do not accept returns for an item that has been worn and does not have tags on it. I was not asking for a refund... I only wanted to exchange the defective pair for the exact same item. This policy is ridiculous. Has the item been worn...? Yes, but for a few hours until the defective buckle broke off. I could not believe the lack of care over this. You could see they are brand new. The manager basically said sorry but have a nice day. I have contacted Hollister's customer service in regards to this issue. WILL NOT BE...
Read moreWhat a terrible shopping experience. Took my 14yr old, who is a fan of the brand, and I suspect the crowded store, overburdened staffers, low stock and harried atmosphere has taken the place down more than a notch for her. She was downright dejected after the experience. I felt sorry for her, but I suspect she will find other places to spend her money on trending apparel. If Hollister upper management reads this, you need to figure out how not to make shopping your stores feel like playing a rugby match. It’s pretty ridiculous how long the lines are for fitting rooms. If you accurately provided sizing info, and were consistent with sizing, you wouldn’t have such lines. Then there’s the poorly trained staff. It’s obvious that they are overwhelmed and lack much if any training in customer service. Much of the retail apparel world seems like this, so two stars since I can’t expect a teen fashion company to buck the trend. But wow, I won’t be volunteering to take my daughter to another one. Not that she’ll be begging to go back...
