update:
First, I want to recognize an outstanding employee at this location: Darien. He went above and beyond to assist me, and I was truly grateful for his help. Ramon was also very helpful, especially when it came to loading items into my carâhis willingness to help was appreciated.
Unfortunately, the rest of my experience wasnât as positive. Many of the customer service representatives at the registers were lacking in basic customer service skills. A refresher training in courtesy and attentiveness would go a long way.
One of my biggest frustrations with this store is the layout. I entered through the Business and Construction side, which has a checkout and what appears to be a return deskâbut I was told I had to walk all the way to the opposite end of the store just to return three items. There were no exceptions. That setup is beyond inconvenient and honestly makes me want to shop elsewhere.
Overall, this Home Depot is decent, and I do find their prices slightly better than their major competitor in the area. But the customer service inconsistencies and poor layout make it a hit-or-miss experience. Absolutely disappointed with the kind of customer service at the store. We arrive 15 minutes before closing only to be greeted with an aggressive. We close in 15 minutes. All we needed was one screw and one nut when we went over. It looked like they did not have the screw enough that we needed in metric small enough. So we needed to ask for help. it was hard to find anyone as they were all standing by the cash registers at the exit. So we walked down there to get help and the woman says we're closing. I'm like I am aware of that. I just need a screw in a bolt but we can't seem to find it. Can you send someone over to the hardware department? One of the other employees that was standing there said he would assist us. However, he didn't know anything about hardware and he walked as slow as a turtle. He was kind and tried to be helpful at least. The woman was aggressive and rude. Since the gentleman had no idea what he was doing as much as we didn't know, and they never bother sending anyone that actually worked in hardware over to help us. We were struggling to find these two simple items that we needed. The second it turned 8 o'clock. The woman yelled at us were closed. I have never encountered this kind of rudeness at any other store when it's close to closing time. Usually they're helpful to help you find what you need so you can get out I think I'll be going to Lowe's next time, we left without the items we needed. This is the Macedonia store. Terrible unhelpful, and knowledgeable, and...
Read moreI have never posted a review before but my service was so exceptionally bad I need to share.
I placed an online order, simple enough. I received a text saying that my curbside order was ready. I pulled to designated space #4 and called the number. The man that answered said the order is at the pro desk and he "can't leave right now". He told me to pull to the pro desk entrance. So I did. I pulled up to the door. No one is there. Now, I have to run in and let them know I am there. I lock my 3 children in the car ( that is why I opted for curbside). I go in and ask for my order. Role, the cashier, walks over to the cart containing my order. He immediately complains that the order was loaded wrong and the cart is too heavy. Fred, another associate walks up to help. Fred says "wellith shouldn't be curbside. He proceeds to complain about my order as he and Role push the overloaded cart. I am standing 6 feet away as he loudly continues to complain that my items should not be curbside and that they need to train the customers better. He is very inconvenienced by the fact that he had to help push a cart 30 feet. He leaves the cart at the entrance and again says "you shouldn't have ordered it curbside.
I loaded my truck. And then called to complain to the manager. The manager dismissively said "I'm sorry, I will follow up with them. Thank you". Now I am waiting on hold with Home Depot customer service. It has been 22 minutes so far waiting to talk to someone.
I do not decide what is available to order. Curbside service typically does not mean that you have to go in the store to get the product. It is never appropriate to complain about a customer for simply ordering a product. If you are having a bad day, I'm sorry. Talk to your boss about it. I will now be shopping...
Read moreI was looking for a desk fan that was advertised on home Depot website. I was pretty far from my home at the Macedonia location and I was determined to get this desktop fan. I looked all over the store it could be about six or seven times even asked customer service they made a call and one of the employees could not find it because there was no aisle listed or anything on the website. I tried one more time and thought that I would find it on one of the end caps so I had to go through the whole store from the garden section all the way back to the lumber section and slowly go over each one so that I could find this fan. As I almost got to the lumber section one of the employees saw that I was there for a pretty long time looking around the store. His name is Mark and Mark came out and talk to me about what I was looking for I showed him on my phone the desktop fan and I really wanted this fan. Mark kindly help me with great assistance great service. He had great patience and understanding and took me to the aisle which was aisle 40 where they stopped the fans at the very top of the aisle. We looked for the SKU numbers all the way up on the top where the boxes of the fans were and we went around to aisle 41 and also 42 we came back to aisle 40 and I saw the SKU number on the boxes. Mark got the real tall ladder and reached up and found the color of desktop fan that I wanted so I bought two of them. All it takes sometimes is patience diligence and also a great assistant like Mark to make a...
