Poplar Street Farmers Market — Local services in Macon

We recently moved to Macon, and it took awhile for us to discover this gem. We purchased from several different vendors and were happy with everything we brought home. The people were also friendly and chatty, so it made shopping there especially fun. The live music was a treat as well. Our favorite wares were from the primary baker. His sourdough bread is fantastic, the best I’ve ever had outside the San Francisco area! It was a charming experience, highly recommend, plan on returning at least once a month. They also mentioned that it goes year round and that the downtown area is decorated beautifully during the Christmas season, so will definitely bring the family back to...

So glad to see a farmers market for local farms and craftsmen. The opening day was well attended! Vesterfield Farms supplies all of my family’s vegetables and you simply can’t beat fresh, local, healthy produce. They also have beautiful flowers! Our family also used to love the fresh baked bread vendor and the nice lady with the wonderful cakes until we had to go gluten free. (Boo!! Celiac Disease stinks!) Go do your shopping at the market and grab some fresh flowers or potted plants while you are there....

I can’t say enough good things about the Poplar Street Market. I followed the market from Mulberry to Tattnall, and now to Poplar, and I can say without reservation that the new location is by far the best. My favorite farmers at Vesterfield farms continue to bring outstanding produce and beautiful flowers at very reasonable prices to this easily accessible place.
