BED BUGS!! Amazing stay turned horrible with extremely disappointing corporate support! It started with a seemingly normal stay in Mammoth Lakes, CA (Meadow Ridge 37 (VRBO Property # 2451906)): easy check-in, property well-maintained, no issues! Everything you’d expect from a corporate conglomerate of VRBO and Vacasa Property Management. We arrived on Wednesday and stayed till Sunday for a ski weekend. On Friday morning, some folks in our group started noticing hives and rashes on their bodies. We just figured it was environmental - maybe brushing up against some pine, maybe pollen, or something they ate. Everyone was itchy and took plenty of OTC meds, but limited help. On Sunday morning, we proceeded to start the check-out process and discovered bed bugs under one of the mattresses!! We squished a few of them and noticed blood coming out of them - which was our rudimentary validation of what caused the hives….they were indeed bed bug bites. We called VRBO and Vacasa and were told that we can evacuate the property and the local team would come check on the situation and give us a call to discuss next steps. It’s been over a week at this point. Limited to no communication from Vacasa, VRBO threw up their hands and said it wasn’t their problem, and now we’ve been punted off to 2 different companies (Sedgwick and Rental Guardian)….with little to no actual communication or response. Honestly, we’re just looking for a little courtesy in letting us know how to navigate this situation and playing fairly given a lot of inconvenience, very likely bed bug infestation in our clothes and homes, and really bad daily medical issues. It seems as though Vacasa and VRBO are not interested in taking this situation seriously and really dropping the ball, in addition to blatantly breaking their respective terms and conditions - which articulate “clean and safe” stays and properties. I’m hoping this post will get someone’s attention that can help work through our situation. To date, the only people we’re aware of that are involved are Cole Davis (Assistant Manager for Vacasa in Mammoth Lakes) and Nicole James from Sedgwick (her manager is Cathy Guzman, Qualified Manager, CA license #2B88261 who is part of Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc., CA license #2549023).

Rented on Bear Court from Feb 2nd through 5th. Worst experience ever. Contacted Vacasa from 10 am Saturday to 5pm Saturday evening to let them know that 2 gentlemen on top of roof dropping loads of snow in driveway. Cleared driveway once with shovels on my own then paid someone to clear a second time and talked to men on roof. Despite my efforts every time we cleared the drive the men on the roof dropped loads of snow back onto driveway. No place for us to park and had continual difficulty getting in and out of the property throughout the day. By 5pm the driveway, despite being cleared by me twice was full of snow again. Finally got a manager who sent someone out to property but was told it was too late to do anything. He helped shovel a path to the house and told me to park car next to snow pile illegally as no place else to park. Woke up Sunday morning to buried car (snowing and some snow fell from pile in driveway) and blocked entrance to get out of house. Texted Vacasa explaining circumstances and asking for late check out and was told NO get out by 10am. No refund of any kind offered and no help despite my many attempts to contact Vacasa. Would never stay at a home managed by this company again.

I found this little getaway from home and it literally felt like home. I came here with my family for my birthday the location was super convenient, literally down the street from eagle lodge. The condo was awesome clean and super comfortable. The neighborhood was very nice. This place has everything you need. I loved the fact they had a washer and dryer made my life easier with the little ones. We went sledding on the golf course it was so much fun!! and snowboarding at mammoth mountain is always a blast! Snowstorm came through and man it was awesome to watch! Thank you for having us we will definitely be back!

Horrible customer service. Terrible communications. Poorly run.

They rarely answer the phone. Their lack of service and communication caused a major hassle and stress for our group on a recent vacation.

They said to call on check in day if we would be checking in after 5pm. We called on the way to Mammoth and they not only didn't answer, but it took 2-3 calls before they finally called us to confirm late check in program. This caused unnecessary stress because it made us concerned if they were going to be able to handle late check in.

We checked in after hours and they only left 1 key for our condo!!! We had a group and we needed several keys. Who only needs 1 key in any condo much less a 2BD 2BR that accommodates 6 people??? This alone caused a total hassle and stress for our group and we even had to leave the key under the doormat when we went out.

I called on check in night to say that we needed more keys and they actually answered the phone (first time in many calls) and the girl said "your not going to want to hear this but "local operations" handles that and they will call you tonight. No one called.

Still with only 1 key and 3 different people needed keys (wife was meeting friend to ski, kids meeting friend to ski and Im skiing solo), I again called the office to ask about getting more keys. Voice mail again. I called again later because I still didn't get a returned call.

Feeling like I had no other choice, I quit skiing early! to drive to the office to get an extra key in person since I had no returned call AND they didn't answer the phone. I HAD TO STOP SKIING EARLY TO GO TRY TO TALK TO THESE PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T ANSWER THEIR PHONE OR RETURN CALLS!

When I get to the office at 2pm theres a note taped top the door saying "Out to lunch til 315"

So I waste another hour and when I come back the girl says oh they put an extra key in the condo this afternoon! After all my calls and messages they didn't have the common courtesy or common sense to call me and let me know? a key locked inside the condo that I didn't know about did me and my group no good. Vacasa - you need give out more than 1 key to a group, answer your phone, return calls promptly and use some common sense.

if the owner of this condo know how bad of an experience their guest were getting I think they'd find a new property...

Our party of 3 adults loved this place, it was recently redone, and it is beautiful. This is not that typical 60's-70's outdated looking mammoth condo, this has stone counters, nice updated bathrooms, linens and the furniture is nice/new! Walk in shower on the bottom floor was fully stocked and all light switches are clearly marked throughout the house. Some of things you should know are and if you want to avoid vons: they have a traditional coffee pot with plenty of filters but bring your own coffee, and tin foil. Kitchen has new appliances with a starter kit with detergent for 2 loads in the dishwasher and about 3 trash bags. The unit is upstairs so getting your stuff into the unit will require one flight of stairs. Getting into the unit was easy (with code) and the parking for the unit is close with additional spots close by. Learn how to work a pellet stove and the heaters, so you aren't cold or too hot. We turned the heater off in the downstairs room when we slept, the loft gets warm fyi. Stove is electric. Fridge has an automatic ice machine. If you require more than one towel, bring one. Locking the door from the outside requires reading the directions. More things we loved: the carpet in bedrooms and the living room was new and soooo soft-i know this sounds strange but it was very much appreciated on our tired feet after long days of skiing! The bathrooms and kitchen were decorated impeccably, loved the heater in the bathroom, and the king bed downstairs was soooo comfortable if you enjoy a firm mattress. Unit has a nice balcony. There are convenient chargers behind the nightstands. Chairs in the living room are recliners! Plenty of utensils in the kitchen. Loved the guest book! Well...
