Travis at Sun&Ski Mammoth Lakes is a great bootfitter!!! And Sun&ski is serious about their boot fitting guarantee. GREAT SERVICE, I will DEFINITELY come back here!! Let me explain: I bought new boots at another Sun&ski location but after 2 days of skiing my feet were very painful. Travis took the time to explain me why the boots didn't work for me, he was very patient, let me try a bunch of different boots and explained in detail what I needed. The boots he suggested turn out to be a great fit, no pain or pressure points after 4 days of skiing!! I couldn't be happier with my new boots! I have quite difficult feet (high instep & arch being the main issue, combined with pretty wide last and narrow heels), and these boots give me enough space where I need it while I can tighten them enough for a very snug fit and a great direct transmission to my skis!! You are great, Travis, thank you so much!!! Could not have been happier with these boots. And Sun&Ski took back the boots I had bought even after 2 days of skiing, and they exchanged them for the other new boots without any questions!!...

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding a recent service experience at your Mammoth location. As a first-time rider in Mammoth, visiting from Colorado, I dropped off my bike for a spoke replacement on Thursday. I was informed it would be ready for pickup on Friday.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to pick up my bike on Friday and arranged to collect it on Saturday morning. However, when I arrived at 10:30 AM on Saturday, the store was closed due to a power outage. This unexpected closure forced me to rent a bike elsewhere to continue my riding plans.

Later that afternoon, when I was finally able to retrieve my bike, I requested a refund for the rental bike I had to acquire. Unfortunately, this request was denied, and I was only offered the bike service free of charge (a value of $35 USD). While I appreciate the complimentary service, it does not fully compensate for the inconvenience and additional cost incurred due to the unexpected closure.

If you want to buy boots this is the place to go and ask for John! Truly top notch customer service and boot fitting from John. He spent a lot of time with us, and answered all my questions. On top of that, he made the extra effort to explain why each element of the boot should fit in the manner it should and taught me so much by having me try on not just different boots, but also different insoles and played with different pressure/tension so I could FEEL the difference vs just being told the concepts. He helped me realize that the boots I had demo-ed at another (well respected) shop the prior days were actually a size too big. John recommended a smaller size in a style that didn’t cause loss of blood flow and kept my small ankles more stable. Didn’t even realize this was possible! He observed my feet shape/size/arch/other unique elements to my feet/ankles/calves that the other shop didn’t notice or take the time to consider, and thus made a huge positive difference in the fit.
