One word. OK OK, a few words: CHICKEN PARM PANUOZZO. Go. Get it. The tomato sauce is dialed in! The perfect pitch of basic, high quality tomato meets a subtle sweet flavor that the fresh basil sets off! Fresh mozzarella and Parmesan both perfectly dispersed and there is no skimping on ingredients. Moist, fried chicken. All stuffed into the perfect nest of folded pizza dough. (Fantastic dough, in and of itself!) My husband equated it to the Italian version of a Mexican Torta. (Feel like a lot of Californians know what a Torta is, hence the reference) You want this in your belly, trust me. This is a LARGE menu item. (See photos) I cannot wait to eat my leftovers. They also have a new soup. Tomato florentine. Outstanding. No salt or seasonings needed, although I did personally add red peppers just because I like some heat. The service is always amazing, and tonight may have been the best time yet. We live here and have been coming since opening week. We adore the ambiance and customer service. If there is anyone reading this review who came here when they first opened and have any reservations...LET THEM GO. And go try my recommendations. Main Street has worked out any recipe kinks they may have had and is ready to rock your tastebuds. Anyone that knows me knows that I spend hours inventing my own recipes and am a true foodie. I put my personal stamp of approval on this. Also! Super family friendly. There are arcade games, shuffle board and the servers are all really into kids. (I raised three of my own so observe these things) Fantastic bar and TVs for all the sports games. Now...'Scuse me while I go eat...
Read moreMain Street Pizza & Tap is one of the few true lifelines on the eastern Sierra corridor—open until 10 p.m., reliably serving real food after long drives or longer descents. If you’re coming off trail northbound from the high country, this is where you stop. The location is dead center in Mammoth, right across from the Motel 6 and near convenience stores of all stripe. Inside, it’s loud, casual, a bit chaotic—arcade games humming, shuffleboard clacking, paper towels on the tables, bathrooms clean. The pizza is the reason to come: fantastic crust, well‑balanced toppings, and clearly hand‑made. It’s expensive—a large make‑your‑own will run you close to $40—but you’re not here for value. You’re here because you’re tired, hungry, and you want the best pizza between Tahoe and Bishop. Skip the wings: the chicken’s not great and the sauce doesn’t redeem it. The beer list is deep, sourced from east side breweries, and if you’ve got a couple hours to linger, it’s worth your time. Otherwise, grab your pie in a box and be...
Read moreThis was my least favorite place to eat in Mammoth but it has the potential to be better. Nice inside and location is fantastic however, food and service was a huge miss. All orders placed at bar. The bartender with the mustache lacked customer service skills and a personality. Asked him to confirm our order to be sure it was correct and he made us feel like we were bothering him as he flipped the screen for a quick second to show us before flipping it back. Handed us our receipt as he was walking away without eye contact or even a simple thank you. Zero courtesy. Pepperoni pizza was very thin and inundated with sauce, making it soggy. Fountain drink machine was out of ice so customers were using their used cups to scoop out ice for refills from a large icebox next to it. GROSS, unsanitary and probably a health code violation. Will not go back...
