I found a dead fly in between my kale within my bowl that I was eating. I approached the attendant who made my food and she offered to remake it. However, the other lady working here, said “no” and said, “fly must have come from outside and flew into your food.” I explained, “There are no flies outside in the patio where we sat to eat.” The employee insisted that the fly did not come from the lettuce and insinuated that I must have put it in there. I said, “ all I want is for someone to to remake it my food, please.” I added, “I just paid $50 for food at this place.” The not nice employee said, “no” again. At that point, I said, “please take this bowl. I can’t eat it. I don’t want it.” Another nice male employee came out to apologize to me. I appreciated the nice lady and nice man working there trying to make things “right.” However by this time, the damage was done. I had lost my appetite and didn’t want a replacement bowl. In addition to the mean girl working here and accusing me putting a fly in my food, a customer in the establishment proceeded to tell me that I was “wrong and was making a big deal out of nothing.” I told her “no one implied that you were lying. No ine implied that you put a fly in your food and then refused to remake it after you had paid for it.” By now, I had two people attacking my integrity and character. I felt horrible and had to hold back my tears. As I was typing this up, another nice gentleman that worked here came out to apologize to me and offered me a refund for my bowl. In closing, words have a lot of power… think about it. We all have the power to be kind to others and make them feel good. All it takes is a small and kindness. At the end of the day, I am walking away with peace in my heart and my integrity because I was kind and polite to everyone. I...
Read moreI hate to give this review about the service because I love Elixer's food and I personally have had good experiences with the employees in the past. However, I think it is absurd that customers are encouraged to order solely from the kiosks instead of from people. Not only is this unaccommodating to older (or generally less tech savvy) people, but this also takes away from the employees generating tips. A place that offers food should encourage its employees to interact with customers as much as possible. Who is going to put a tip on a bill generated by a machine? Additionally, even if you are apt to tip a machine, this method encourages employees to be less social, less friendly, and give fewer farts about the quality of the product they are producing.
(In response to the reply by management for this review, I will revise my previous thoughts in its regard: I completely sympathize with the challenges of our town. But given others' reviews citing numerous poor experiences with customer service, I still stand by guests' experiences being dampened by the way Elixir is currently running things. I was given the vibe in Elixir that it was preferred by the staff that I ordered at the kiosk because I went to the register and the fellow there seemed too busy to stop and take my order.)
That all being said, the employees who I interacted (however briefly) with today were all smiles and politeness. But I can see how other customers might have had poor experiences with...
Read more‘When you offer less service you get less quality service’ is the impression I am having with elixir. I have been coming to elixir during my summer seasons working in the area for over 5 years. I love the food and they hold a market being the only healthy food option in town. It’s not uncommon to have a less than friendly interaction with a staff who doesn’t seem to want to be there but never nothing at all. Since last year I saw them shifting from customer service based to more kiosk and online and today was the first time I went in this season and I’m hoping I just caught everyone on a “bad day”. Literally the coldest service I’ve experienced there. No greeting or acknowledging with only two other customers in the room, when I placed my order on the kiosk I hung out going outside to check on my dog in the car while waiting. I return and tried to give a polite smile to the guy making the bowls who glared back at me!! Crazy, and then I noticed my food on the little side counter by a girl stocking drinks. I made a comment how I didn’t know my food was up and how everyone seemed so quiet to which she said she’s autistic and antisocial. The vibe is so opposite of the purpose of nourishing(expensive) food. If it wasn’t the only health food place and the only place in town I eat as a vegan when I come down the hill I’d not return due to the customer service. It’s a tourist town yes but it’s also a small community where how you interact with others...
