I've never shopped at H&M because I was always too big for the clothes, but after losing weight during the pandemic, I needed some professional clothes. However, I had no idea what size I wear. The changing room was closed, and I was told I could buy stuff and try it on at home and return it if it didn't fit. That sounded incredibly inconvenient but I needed the clothes so I bought several different outfits in different sizes to see what looked good and what fit. Turns out the only thing that looked good was the blazer. So I went to return everything else and found out that I was rung up twice for the same item of the same size. The woman was very helpful with figuring out what was duplicated, but she was not allowed to refund me without the item. If it was more then $12.99 I would have insisted they check their inventory for that item, because I know I didn't have two of that top. So needless to say, I will not be shopping there again. Also, I have decided as a result of this that I will not be shopping anywhere I cannot try the clothes on in the store, and I will be that person who doesn't leave the store until I've counted everything and checked the receipt. The part that upsets me the most is that none of this would have happened if they had their changing room open, and had it been open, I would have bought $200+ in clothing. I'm so...

First they tell my sister that she isn’t allowed to be in the fitting room with her 9 year old daughter (H&M sent a customer appreciation card as a means to remedy the negative experience).
Then, I go to make a return today and was informed of H&M’s ridiculous return policy by a less than pleasant (it nearly killed her to greet me with a hello) African American girl with a head wrap (can’t recall her name henece the need for a description). Yes I had the receipt with all original tags attached, however my card (debit direct from my account) used during the initial transaction was compromised over the holiday so my bank issued a new card (pending arrival). I was told that I could either receive a merchandise credit or attain a letter from my bank indicating that my card was compromised and a new one was issued. I did not pay with a merchandise credit (I used debit) so I didn’t expect to be refunded via a merchandise credit nor did I expect that I would need a letter from my bank to receive a $30 refund.
My final thought; these clothes are made in China and overpriced for the quality. Go to...
Read moreIf I could, I would give 0 stars. The lack of customer service brings me to this decision. Coming from retail myself I have a lot of understanding what kind of work the staff has to do throughout the day. This isn't an easy job, I totally understand. I also understand that the staff would like to go home at the end of the day and are busy cleaning up and getting the store ready for the next business day. What I don't understand is, that we close off the fitting rooms half an hour before closing time, so customers can't try on their clothes anymore. After I searched for pants and tried them on the first time, I was out of the fitting room by around 7:25pm. I put everything back where it belonged and then tried to find the next size up. I point out that I didn't get asked once if I needed help, I'm fine with that. But then finding that the fitting rooms were closed after 7:35pm was very frustrating. Cashier couldnt care less, after I aksed if Someone could open them up again. So long story short , I went somewhere else...
