I gave this location one star because that was the only way I was able to leave a review. I tried to dine in at this location this morning for breakfast with my son. I was quickly seated. It appeared to be about 4 families already seated and eating. We were advised someone will be with us momentarily after we were seated. Momentarily turned into never. We sat for 31 minutes total and was never even approached and asked what we wanted to drink. Let alone, what would like to order. After waiting for 31 minutes my son let a woman know at the podium that we had never been greeted/assisted. I then got up from our table and approached the front (TO LEAVE!) and the woman( I think she was a woman) asked, “Are you leaving?” I replied, “yes ma’am we have waited too long. “ she said “ok thank you. “ No apologies for the lengthy wait and no communication before that, letting us know there may be a long wait time. This happened to me and my daughter as well, back in April. Same location. Oh! And let me NOT leave out, that a man and his daughter were seated about 15 minutes after me and my son and was offers something to drink maybe 2-3 minutes after being seated. Which is the same thing that happened to me and my daughter on April. When I complained about it, I was advised by the manager (whom I requested to speak to) that, the reason my daughter and I had not been helped yet was because” their server does no speak English and the reason the other gentleman was helped before me was because he speaks Spanish. “ I use to dine at this location very often for years! Especially on a Sunday morning after church and late at night after an eventful night with friends. Never have I ever experienced such poor service. But over the past 3 years I’ve noticed a lot of the senior staff I’m familiar with are no longer there. Those people actually gave a damn and definitely provided top notch customer service. Needless to say….. I left and drove across town to the other ihop on 29 and not only was I seated but was also offered something to drink and had my meal all in 21minutes. And they had just as many guests as the ihop in the mall. Thank you ihop on 29 and Manassas mall ihop…..GET IT TOGETHER! And call the manager at the ihop on 29 and get some helpful tips on how to provide good...
Read moreI have enjoyed IHOP before and even once before at this location. The first time I went there, the service was a bit on the slow side and minimally civil, but not unreasonable. This time, I convinced my wife to go with me. There was nobody at the front, so we waited a moment. A couple of the waitstaff looked at us and one came over. She said she did not know where the lady who should be there got off to, but seated us and provided menus. Shortly, a woman came to ask us about our drinks and take our orders. All seemed to be going well, but I noticed the staff seemed...unenthusiastic? Civil, but not what you would call friendly. There were multiple staff sitting around looking at their phones. There were only four or five tables occupied, so that is understandable. But it seemed the level of service was off. Half an hour after placing our orders, my glass of tea had been empty for about ten minutes and we had no word of when our food would arrive. I went to a lady at the register and told her I would like to pay for the drinks and go. She got our server. Our server said our orders were ready and just waiting for pancakes. I pointed out neither of us ordered pancakes. We cleared up that my order was waiting on hash browns. That told me that my omelette was either getting cold or sitting under a warming lamp. When I held my ground, the server went for her manager. Her manager also tried to convince me to wait for my food. The manager eventually relented and told me she would not charge me for my drinks. The odd thing was, even after I pointed out we had been waiting half an hour, nobody apologized. It seemed to be normal business to them. With servers sitting around looking at their phones and a nearly empty restaurant, I did not see that as normal. Other people's experiences may be...
Read moreThis is by far the worst IHOP I have ever been in😮💨 I'm a vegetarian and asked our waiter about the impossible sausage. He acted like he had never heard of them! As I was explaining that, I asked for a combo. Next thing I know, another waiter is waiting on us! Ok, I explained again that I was a vegetarian and a senior. I wanted 2 pancakes, two Impossible sausages, and hash browns. 2+2+2 on the 55+ menu. And, I liked my sausages well done. When my plate came, it had two pork sausages! When I told the waiter, again that I was a vegetarian, he snatched my plate and walked off! When my plate finally arrived, the same pancakes were on my plate, just harder(they reheated the same pancakes)! I know this because I worked as a waitress for 8 years at IHOP in Riverdale, Maryland! By this time, my friend was finished with his dinner so I told the waiter I didn't want it! The waiter put his hands on his hip and said, loudly, "I tried to work with you! I came over here, it's not my station! I came because the other waiter would not come back!" WHAT THE HECK!!! And now, I will never go back, and I pray that after reading this, you will not go there! The Mexicans that work there have the nerve to be...
