Unfortunate Experience at Elite Jewelers ā Manassas Mall Location
On or around August 8, 2024, my wife and Iāmarried for over 20 yearsādecided to visit Elite Jewelers at 8300 Sudley Rd, Suite 306, Manassas, VA, based on glowing reviews and personal recommendations. We bypassed several other jewelry stores in the mall in favor of this one.
The female associates were welcoming, especially Gloria, who initially provided kind and attentive service. However, our experience with the male manager was quite the oppositeāhe was rude and unprofessional. Because of this, we chose to work only with Gloria.
My wife had her eye on a beautiful ring, but I was there to purchase a custom 18.5g, 26-inch white gold necklace, which had to be ordered since it wasnāt in stock. I was charged $2,300 for the necklace.
Fast forward to May 23, 2025āover nine months laterāI returned to pick up the necklace. Gloria greeted me but seemed noticeably different in demeanor. She hesitated and even contacted management before releasing the necklace I had already paid for. A young male manager joined in with further questions, making the situation unnecessarily awkward.
I requested to have the necklace tested, and Gloria responded in a loud and condescending tone, āReally? Really?ā I explained I wanted to be sure I was getting what I paid for. She told me they do not offer testing and do not have the equipment to do so at their locationāa red flag for a reputable jeweler.
Suspicious and concerned, I immediately went to another jeweler in the same mall to have the necklace tested. To my dismay, the necklace weighed only 17.5 grams, not the 18.5 grams I paid for. This 1-gram discrepancy is significantāespecially considering that:
On August 8, 2024, 18 grams of gold was worth approximately $1,362.92
At that time, 17.5g of gold was worth around $1,324.84
The current value of 18.5g (as of May 2025) is approximately $1,330
This means Elite Jewelers overpriced my necklace and effectively swindled me out of nearly $970, not accounting for any additional markups or craftsmanship fees.
As someone with professional connections in the NFL and a long-standing commitment to supporting local businesses, this experience was both disappointing and frustrating.
Recommendation: I strongly urge future customers to do your homework, request third-party testing, and consider alternative jewelers. Transparency, honesty, and customer respect should be the standardānot...

My toddler was stir crazy today and I thought a good indoor environment for her to stretch her legs and burn off some energy would be the Manassas Mall. I did not anticipate the tantrums at being stroller bound with so many fascinating things to look at. I tried to maintain her in the open areas and not subject stores to her wandering hands and new found enthusiastic means of communicating via screeching. After derailing an attempt at making a break for the shiny things in one store, she out maneuvered me and took a hard left into the next store, which happened to be Elite Jewelry.
I reluctantly chose in that moment to escort her through to the nearest exit to avoid the tantrum of interrupting her journey to carry her out the way we'd entered.
The staff didn't appear at all put off by her presence and one gentleman behind the counter very hurriedly removed a balloon from the display case and gifted it to her.
