Red Embers Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Manassas

While the food was good the service was odd. We were a larger group for Mother's day and were seated quickly and ordered our food and appetizers. One of the apps we ordered (brussel sprouts) was not available so we just got a second order of mozzarella sticks. The first thing that happened was that the waitress who took our order was not the person who brought food out so the waiter had no idea who ordered what. Not a problem, we just raised our hands when he called out the food. Then the weird things happened, the waiter brought us the brussel sprouts. We asked why they were available and the waiter told us, "The chef didn't want to make it so we got another guy to do it." Umm... I didn't realize that he had a choice being a chef for a restaurant cooking items on his menu. The next thing was that they bring the food out as its prepared so half our table got food and the other half didn't for another 30 minutes so the food we had got cold and the other food just wasn't there. We didn't get the mozzarella app until after our food it was so out of order. The last thing that happened was I was told my pizza had been burnt so they'd need to remake it which took another 30 minutes. At that point we gave up, I just shared my boyfriend's pizza and when mine finally came I packed it up and we left because we had already finished eating, playing a few games of cards while waiting for my food, and all the food had been cleared away and our check was already paid. Absolutely horrible experience! We used to absolutely love coming here the service was always fantastic and the food is great! We came here on a Friday night with some friends and the whole "scanning the cod on the table ordering system" does not work at all nobody could take our order we stood at the bar for probably 25 minutes just to make an order! Very frustrating!! Not a single person in there knew how to make an order from scanning the code on the table.

It took a while but got our food. Food is still very good. There's no waiters or waitresses so you can't get anything without having to go up to the bar to ask for it which takes forever when there's one bartender serving everyone. We asked for our drinks 3 times and never got them untill we were way past being done eating. Drinks were disappointingly weak.

The next day I noticed I was charged way more than what I purchased. I called and they said that they would call me back and no one has returned my call.

Needless to say, unfortunately, we will not be back...

I was given a gift card for Christmas in the amount of $50, purchase receipt attached. Went to use it and was told the card was empty - this was the first time we tried using it. The manager came over and even though I had the receipt they settled with only paying for our meal ($30) and said we were even.....yet the buyer paid $50 - nice profit for them!!!

My mom went a few weeks ago...the cashier offered to combine the 3 gift cards she had into one - paying cash for that visit, leaving her gift card with full amount. She goes back today and was informed that there was no money in the gift card. Manager researched and said that there was a transaction 4 months ago; however, my mom just got the card a week and a half ago. Mom showed the manager the receipt given at time of 3-to-1 transfer but all they would settle is one game of bowling and $20 in arcades..........another nice profit of $60 for them!!!
