Going through checkout is depressing at this location. The manager Tasia (Tacia sp?) is horrible.
The cashiers are fairly rude but, you know what, it starts at the top. I have witnessed on two occasions (my only two times in there) the manager and her cashiers yelling at customers.
My first trip there, I didn't realize that there is 1 single line for all of the 3-4 open registers (we came around from the far left side (facing the registers)) after circling the store to browse all isles and hopped in line. The entire time the cashier (manager) was checking out the guy in front of us, she saw us waiting there in line and never said anything to us. The moment she finishes with that customer, she yells at us, snapping her fingers "no, no, no... there is one line, one line, you have to get in the line, it starts over there!!!"
So of course, we get into line because we were not trying to cut in front of anyone. And while were were standing in line, we saw her literally every 2-3 minutes yelling at other customers the same thing and in the same manner. It was very depressing. While standing in line I began looking around and finally, I noticed there is a hand written sign on the red pole that says "1 single line".
Too bad Ollie's prefers to yell at their customer instead of putting up a proper, large, legible sign that everyone will see when they are trying to checkout no matter what direction they are coming from!
I returned later that same day for my second time to return 1 item (didn't fit in my car) and there they were, the same manager and cashiers still yelling at...
Read moreIf you're a college student or someone starting fresh, this store is a great place to stretch your budget. Thanks to their overstocking, you can find a wide range of good-quality products at more reasonable prices and in larger quantities than what you might get at Walmart or Target.
I appreciate how the store is organized, with books at the front, followed by snacks, food, body products, clothing, bed and bath items, flooring, and cooking supplies. They even have toys, vacuum equipment, AC heaters, and gardening supplies towards the other side of the store. The store's setup is quite well thought out.
However, one consistent issue I've noticed across various locations in this chain is that their bathrooms could use some renovation. They're not just inconvenient for employees but also for customers. Despite this, I do like the store overall and hope they...
Read moreToday will be the last time I shop at this location. My wife and I came in today to browse the store and watched as the older African American supervisor berated a middle aged woman in front of her teenage children over trying to PURCHASE RUGS!!! The customer obviously needed help and instead of trying to help the customer and solve the problem she decided to scream at the customer using curse words (while the customer is TRYING TO SPEND MONEY) we then watched as she rolled her eyes and slammed products into bags with the other customers,it was bad enough that the other employees were obviously uncomfortable and my wife felt the need to apologize to the other associate on register for having to put up with that kind of management. I can imagine that's the image you want your stores to promote. We will be using the sterling location from...
