I had an Alpine i509-WRA-JK installed in a Jeep JKU in January. I went to Safe&Sound because the previous owner had most of the jeep mods done there (entire sound system and lights). Initially wanted a new head unit upgrade and tune of the amps. The Head unit that was going to be installed had 2 available USBs and an AUX. I had requested that the USBs be brought out to the match the current config (one on the center console and 1 in the glove box to power an ipod classic). The Good Donnie and Jared were pretty friendly and helpful. Great recommendation for a head unit. Could have been better 1 - Donnie is a bit of a “fast talker”, he needs to slow down a bit. No big deal, just a note to be aware of, especially when you receive the quote and close out to ensure what you asked for was actually done. 2 - While the installer was only there at this site for a day, I was told that it would potentially take 2 days, so I called for a ride home (45 min away). Ended up being ready late that day, so took the 2nd trip up to pick it up. When I did get there there was still work being done to finish the install, right up till closing. The head unit did arrive that morning. 3 – When I got there and was checking the install/getting shown what was done, I noticed that a USB was not brought out to the center console. No big deal, he brought the USB cable out and installed in the cigarette lighter location, vice the center console – total of a 15 min job. Donnie added an hour to the bill for the part and an hour install fee. I brought this to Donnie’s attention and he adjusted the price. The aux was not extended out, I would need to return for that. The USB that was extended to the glove box apparently does not support iPOD classics, I will check with Alpine on a plan to support in the future. 4 – After a thorough sound checking (at home), I was getting vibrations from the subs in the back. I checked and both brackets on both sides were not connected to the frame of the jeep. While at the shop I was told the screws were not long enough, and that they were stripped. I just did not realize that they were left disconnected from the frame of the jeep, causing the rattle. Turns out, aside from Safe and Sound being the original installers of the subs, the screws are the same size as the OEM. It is something I will have to get someone else to assist in fixing, apparently there are some parts to the mounts that are not there anymore – could have been lost in sale or changing out of hard top to soft top. 5 – It was dark, so I had not realized until after I left, the next day, that I was missing a 9in light bar cover from the front of the jeep (it was under the driver side seat). I called and let Donnie know. After significant back and forth on calls and texts, he offered to give me part of the cost of the replacement of the cover for an item I did not lose. I do not agree with after spending well over $4k, I was being offered $20, when it could have very easily been replaced. 6 – This is written a few months after the install, the mic for the radio was run through the top of the windshield and down the A Pillar. Cable is now dangling at the top driver side. No big deal, something I will have to fix on my own, but should be noted. Donnie recommended an External Accessory Control Module (KAC-001) and we had that installed, but the software upgrade won’t be available till April time frame. Bottom line, I will not be heading back for that work to be done with them, or the upgrades we talked about for the light bar.

Donnie and Drew are the best. I highly recommend Safe & Sound Mobile Electronics. I recently had an Alpine iLX-507 digital multimedia receiver installed into my son’s “brand new to him” 2005 Toyota Tundra. Not only was the install perfect, but the customer service of these fine fellas went above and beyond. I was purchasing the truck from out of state and desperately needed CarPlay for the long trip back home. Donnie was patient and helpful throughout the whole process of coordinating with myself and the auto dealer to complete the install prior to our arrival in Virginia so that when we flew in to pick the truck up, it would be all ready to go. Donnie even asked that we stop by after picking the truck so that my son and I could be given a quick tour of the new Alpine infotainment system. Drew, the installer showed us all about it, and even gave us some recommendations for breakfast before we hit the road. Then after breakfast when somehow my son and I still managed to screw up the pairing with our two iPhones, Drew cheerfully come out again a second time from his busy work and showed us what happened and how we could easily switch between my iPhone and my son’s iPhone. The team at Safe & Sound Mobile Electronics were Johnny on the spot. I highly recommend. Were it not for their dedicated team our 20-hour drive back would’ve been treacherous. Thanks Fellas!

I highly recommend Safe and Sound Mobile Electronics to anyone. They provide top notch customer service and installation. I will definitely use them again in the future if I decide to upgrade anything else on my car. I inquired, through email, about getting Apple Car Play installed in my Lexus back in December 2020. Rich answered all of my questions and concerns with lightening speed about cost and how installation might impact the current features I already had in my car. The cost was very reasonable and installation wouldn't change the functionality of the features I already had. I scheduled an appointment to have Car Play installed in January. Installation took two days. After the first day, I was called with an update about how installation was going and how much longer it would take. When I came to pick up my car, the person who installed Apple Car Play in my Lexus walked me through how all the different features worked before I drove away. I have had Car Play in my Lexus for about 5 months now and it still works perfectly! Getting it installed by Safe and Sound was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am 100% satisfied with the work that Safe and Sound did. They are awesome!

This is from 2 years ago, but I had a subwoofer installed and front speakers replaced on my 2014 Toyota Corolla and am thrilled! It was very professionally done and they were easy to work with. Here's an email I sent to the owner:

Rich, I just wanted you to know how much I’ve enjoyed working with your employees Jesse and Donnie. I am a middle aged woman and I know nothing about car audio so I really appreciate the expertise of your employees. I told Donnie I just wanted to get my sound balanced out because it wasn't sounding good to me and he came right out and hopped in my car and listened to my music. Donnie noticed I had my bass turned all the way up and suggested I needed a subwoofer and he did so in a completely endearing way by telling me about people’s different “language” they use for “saying” they need a subwoofer. So eventually I went for it and boy am I glad I did! This has definitely become a joke with my friends…they laugh at me with my rearview mirror rattling, but I’m laughing too! I never would have guessed that a subwoofer would add so much to my enjoyment of my music.

So then, I decided to get the vibration in my front speakers fixed. I was curious what a whole system would cost and got that estimate worked up as well, since I know nothing about this stuff. Donnie assured my that I would be fine with the Focal speakers that he originally suggested and that were ultimately installed and he was right on. He never tried to up-sell me. I can tell you, this really sealed the deal with me. A salesman that is honest and just recommends what you need is gold. That’s someone that is going to engender trust with customers and result in referrals. I’m really sensitive to sales tactics and if he had tried ANYTHING on me other than what I actually needed and wanted it would have been over. And he’s a pleasure to deal with. Donnie doesn’t use any “tactics” at all, he’s just a natural and to have sold me something I didn’t know I needed and am so happy with—that’s the real magic.

Jesse I did not interact with as much and he’s on the quieter end, but I can tell he knows what he’s doing and it looks like the installation was very well done. You’re lucky to have two such stellar employees.

I just wanted you to know my perspective and experience since it seems like you are engaged with...
