Words cannot express how disgusted and disappointed I am in this place. This place is a favorite of my friends’ that I host. I placed a large order for ten guests for pickup through DD. When I arrived I told the gentlemen at the front the name on the order. The gentleman looks behind him and then stated he didn’t have an order for that. I pulled up the photo and he and I looked together, he then turned around and again said no order for this one and stated I must have ordered from the Woodbridge one. Three times he looked at my order. I thought I had been mistaken and went to Woodbridge, they didn’t have it. The manager there was kind enough to call the manager at the Manassas location to confirm it was there. I came back to Manassas pretty disappointed. The gentleman who was there before recognized me and said we have your order. I asked where it was, he said they were finishing in the back. I asked to speak to the manager. He stated he wasn’t there and would need to call him. He hands me his cell phone to which I tell the manager the issue. The manager asked if it was the same guy at the front from when I first came, i said yes. The manager asked to talked to him. I hand the phone back to him. And I HEARD the gentleman tell the manager, no she gave wrong name. Which I did not. I ordered under my boyfriends account. I know what name I gave. The gentleman returns to the front, bringing some of my bags. The manager is no longer on the phone but I of course want to finish speaking to him. I began them to the car in a few trips. I return to the desk, checking my order as I go and notice a bag of three lemonades, three banana puddings. Once the cashier returned I asked him to call his manager again. The manager did not pick up the first time so I waited. Once he returned the call the gentleman attempts to hold the phone with it on speaker while speaking to me but was unable because there were other orders coming in. He handed me the phone. I explained to the manager that i hadn’t finished speaking to him and I found the service and lackluster attempt at compensation, no apology for making me drive almost FOURTY MINUTES each way without an apology or acknowledgement of the issue. I requested that he refund 50% of my order or I would need to flag the purchase due to lack of service. The manager sounded annoyed and stated he would do my 50% request however next time I need to give the right name. I was insulted. I explained that I heard what his employee told him and that it was not true. I explain that even in some world that it was, the employee looked at my order several times and still sent me away. The manager became upset, stated he offered me the 50% already and what more do I want, him fired? (Not sure if he meant the employee or not) followed by he would have to look at cameras to prove this. He stated that he was not scared of me. I became upset and asked what that was supposed to mean. He stated me flagging the purchase doesn’t scare me, he’s been doing this (20?) years, and if I want to have an attitude that was fine with him. I was disgusted and pissed off. I began to yell explaining to him that as the manager you stating youre “not scared” of me is immature - he began to cut me off yelling. I ended by stating I’ll wait for my refund and will follow up in three days. It is still not present. I would like to speak to someone about the disrespect and disregard I have recieved at a place I spend $200 at quarterly. It’s...
Read moreBLUF: Make sure you tip and bring cash(no credit card tips permitted) because the kitchen staff may "adjust" your order. Also, eat at the tables or open all boxes and check your order before leaving the restaurant.
I ordered a 3pc Spicy Thigh meal with Mac & cheese as the picture shows. I waited around 10-15mins at a table before the cashier(who is very friendly) let me know my order was ready. When I returned to my table I of course first went right for a spoon of melty M&Cheese but I discovered it was creamed spinach. Not a big deal, as I planned to eat at the restaurant anyway so I caught the "mistake". I let the cashier know and she apologized and said the macaroni would be right out. I began to eat my chicken when I discovered I was given 2 Mild thighs and a Mild drum instead of the 3 Spicy thighs that my receipt states. I let the friendly cashier know and they apologized and said the "spicy" is just a seasoning powder and that they will ask the kitchen for some. The cashier came back empty-handed saying that the kitchen cannot give out any seasoning, and offered me a drink instead. I don't know the logistics of chicken seasoning transportation, but all I thought(and cashier likely thought) was needed was to throw some hot seasoning into a sauce cup - like 5guys does for Cajun seasoning... Anyway, I ate my mild chicken while contemplating the complexities of seasoning transport, when it occured to me that everything in my order was wrong. I am now done my chicken and the Mac&cheese is still not ready. I believe they must grow the wheat for the pasta from scratch prior to every Mac&cheese order, which is impressive. Between the glares from the kitchen staff when I was ordering, the fact that the entire order was wrong, the fact that there were no other orders expo'd since I ordered that could have confused with my order, and the kitchen staff's refusal to quickly remedy the issues on my order - I am concluding that I got DELIBERATELY messed with. Make sure you tip well for pickup before-hand to avoid offending...
Read moreWe visited Southern Style Chicken & Waffle in Manassas for the first time, and it was absolutely delicious! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and friendliness, setting the tone for a great experience.
The chicken was incredibly tender, moist, and packed with flavor. We ordered the spicy version, and it was just the right amount of heat perfectly seasoned and oh-so-tasty! The waffle was equally impressive, infused with vanilla and topped with just the right touch of powdered sugar, making each bite a delightful balance of sweet and savory.
I also ordered a side of creamed spinach, and it was amazing rich, creamy, and full of flavor. The half-and-half drink was very good as well, though I personally would have preferred a self-serve option rather than receiving an unsealed bottle (though I do appreciate that it’s made in-house).
One suggestion that could elevate the experience even further is allowing customers to mix their chicken pieces, especially for larger orders like the 9-piece chicken and waffle. Some other places offer this option with a small upcharge, and it would be a great addition here too!
It’s worth noting that the food is made to order, so allow at least 15 minutes for freshness trust me, it’s worth the wait! While we waited, the lady behind the counter was friendly, polite, and kept the space clean and organized, which showed a real care for her workplace.
Overall, we had a fantastic meal and will absolutely be coming back. If you’re in the area and craving delicious, freshly made chicken and waffles, we highly recommend Southern Style...
