I never post reviews, however I was so appalled at the customer service here that I had to post and let the public and hopefully the owner know how inconsiderate, uncooperative, and rude they were and I have never encountered any restaurant behave in this way.
First of all, I have been a regular customer and have been ordering food from here for the past 5+ years. I ordered a total of 10 kobidah this time, along with rice (total order was $92). When I got home, most of the kobidah were burned. So burned that you can see the color was BLACK. I called them afterwards to inform them that I am having people over, and I can't be serving burned kabob to guests. The guy on the phone told me he himself cooked it and there is no way he serves burned food to his customers and the black color is from the spice they use. He suggested that I taste it and guaranteed it won't taste burned and it's just the spice.
Well I tasted it and it tasted BURNED. Everyone in my family agreed it was BURNED. I called back and tried to explain this and that I regularly order the same kobidah and it is never like this. He started getting extremely angry and started shouting (even though I was talking to him calmy the entire time) that "I cook this everyday myself and never serve burned food because it will cost us money, why are you keep saying it's burned..., etc. etc." Well sir, if you had some decency and willing to listen and understand, why do you think I would call about this just to lie or waste your or my time??! No, I paid money for the food too okay, so it's not just you losing money in this situation. Your insulting, shouting, and angry tone was totally uncalled for. Is it possible that cooks can make mistakes? Is it possible that the meat was on the grill for a little bit too long this time? Restaurants don't always get it perfect every time and that is understandable and that totally OKAY! But you were not even willing to even give me a chance to come back and show you the unsatisfactory food, or give a replacement, or give my money back. You just kept angrily shouting that you are so perfect that you cook this every day and your food can never ever be burned and always perfect and refused to say nothing else and just hung up the phone on me.
The way the guy handled this issue is what made me most upset and led me to write this review, as I am someone who rarely complains, and was not being unreasonable when I was politely and honestly explaining in good faith. Please learn how to treat your customers with a little more respect and understanding.
It's a shame because I've been coming here for so many years and the guy always seems nice, but when something goes wrong as it did with this order for the first time in so many years, he handled it so unprofessionally that I don't think I will be coming back. Long time customer that always spends upwards of $60-70 with every order gets treated...
Read moreGrill Kabob Xpress is probably if not certainly the best Kabob establishment on 234! The portions are huge when you get the platters, fries an the gyro is rather large. I have had the beef kobidah, chicken kohdidah, the steak and the gyro. All have been excellent. The veggies on the gyro are fresh and packed full of lettuce, cucumbers and onion. The green sauce is awesome! I buy the homemade naan bread just to dip in the sauce. The platters will more than fill you up no matter how big of an eater, likely you will have some left overs. The best french fries I have ever had also great for dipping in the green sauce. The humus chick pea soup is also very good. The food is amazing, the owner and people that work there are very friendly. The value is great for what you get, plus they have a chicken special for under $10. The recently painted the dining room so the front of the house is spruced up from what it was (kind of a diamond in the rough). Now it has been polished. Not a lot of seating area, but enough. Great food, great value and support a locally owned...
Read moreI am familiar with the Grill Kabob family (if this iis the same one) due to the spot in Herndon. I used to frequent that location when I worked closer. I am out past Gainesville now and was in the Manassas area and I found this gem. I ordered my usual, the Gyro Sandwich. I always order it because it's simply over stuffed with meat with the perfect ratio of lettuce, onions, and tomato. I always ask for the sauce on the side as I like to do the pour and bite method for each bite. This location may have been the best Gyro I've ever had. The bread was made fresh to order and then filled with succulent, juicy, flavorful slices of meat. The open faced sandwich was wrapped in foil leaving just enough on the end exposed so you can eat and keep the sandwich wrapped the whole time. I always utilize the white sauce only, and this sauce was perfect! I almost needed more but was able to make it last the whole Gyro. I highly recommend Grill Kabob Xpress. You will have the best Gyro in the...
