Van Otis Chocolates — Local services in Manchester

Van Otis is a family tradition for us to mark special occasions and especially Christmas. As the smell of chocolate hits your nose just walking in the store it takes me back to simpler times and happy memories! Since Covid hit they have struggled to consistently receive quality products from suppliers and replace some suppliers who did not survive Covid. Their Swiss Fudge and any of thier milk chocolate molds are still the same as 50 years ago when my mother would take us for a special treat. The Jordan Crackers disappeared with the arrival of Covid but a new supplier was recently found. I have not tried them personally but my brother says they are not the same but still good. I also recommend the Cashew Turtles ( unfortunately on this trip the young man who helped me mixed in some Pecan Turtles with my requested Cashew Turtles thus the four stars for service). Overall I still love my trips to Van Otis but be prepared! This is premium chocolate at a premium price! My advice is to join their rewards program and keep an eye out...

Not sure if you started having a new employee pack up the swiss fudge, but holy moly was it horribly packaged this last time around. My grandmothers favorite is the swiss fudge and she was shocked at how it was just thrown together. The fudge squares are barely actual squares of fudge and it looks like it was literally just thrown into the box. I got a box for my aunt as well and it was the same poor packaging. Maybe you guys should talk to whoever you have doing the swiss fudge in that kitchen back there because they're apparently have a hard time with quality control as of late. There was a very pleasant person handling everything up front though. Minus 5 stars for poorly packaged fudge disappointing the family members who love it most, but the customer service was excellent so add back 2 stars for that. I don't expect any compensation, we ate the fudge, but I'd definitely talk to whoever is doing it about presentation. Especially when you're a high end...
