STAY AWAY FROM DOUG AT THIS ASHLEY STORE! Sleazy salesman at its finest. Overpromises and under delivers. Walked into the store and doug greeted us. We looked at furniture for a few hours and had stuff picked out, however we had plans later and could not finish our order that day. Doug was very nice during our buying process, and promised we would get most of our order on June 4th and the rest on june 21st. That night he texted multiple times to get us to come back in the store the next day to complete the deal. We went back in and purchased the furniture as stated, and after that it all went downhill. We were told we would be given a delivery time frame 2 days before our alleged june 4th date. On june 2nd we received no call so we reached out to doug. I called him and my call was declined. I then texted him the issue and all he said was âcan I call you laterâ. Keep in mind, we had moved all our furniture out of our room and sold it thinking we would have everything on june 4th aside from the mattress which was coming the 21st. We never received another text or message from Doug. It seems as if he only cares about making a sale and will screw you over and not respond after you sign the contract. You would think he would take care of his customers and at least respond after they spend thousands of dollars with him, but apparently he only cares about the money and not about the customers in the slightest. We then had to drive 40 minutes to the store and speak with a manager and figured out that Doug set all of our furniture to be delivered on the 21st and nothing on the 4th as promised. Funny enough, the manager told us the furniture such as the dresser wasnt even available in the warehouse until the 13th so there was no possibility of it being delivered on the 4th when he told us it would be delivered. Again Doug seems to lie and cheat customers to make a dollar, which is why I will NEVER use doug or Ashley again. The manager did do the best he could and moved our delivery to today (the 13th) and gave us a slight discount, but when the furniture was delivered they sent us some wrong pieces for the bed frame and am now awaiting a call back for them to set up a time to redeliver the proper furniture which who knows how long will take. We received a $300 coupon from Ashley, so we decided to visit the store and found a coffee table priced at $800. They offered it to us for $500, and we made the purchase, with the scheduled pickup set for mid-December 2023. However, when I called to inquire about the status of my order, they informed me that the table was not available in stock and would reach out when it was. Two months passed without any communication, so I called again to cancel my order, only to be told that the table was now available for pickup.
After making a one-hour drive to pick it up, we discovered upon opening the box at home that it was not the table we ordered. It was a different color entirely. When I called on Monday to report the issue and request a refund and return, I was shocked to learn that Ashley has a strict no-return policy. I should have checked the item at the pickup location and called immediately the same day if there was an issue, or else they would not accept returns or replacements.
After speaking with four representatives and finally reaching a supervisor, I received the same disappointing response. Now, I am stuck with a table I never intended to buy, after waiting almost three months. To add insult to injury, I discovered online that the original price of this table was around $500, not the inflated $800 they claimed. The $300 coupon we received was nothing but a scam.( no wonder there is a section C law suit against the company)

   Read moreOn Saturday, June 21st, my husband, son, and I walked into the Ashley Furniture Warehouse in Matthews to help my son furnish his very first apartment. A nice gentleman named Doug approached us and asked how he could help and what we were looking for.
My son was initially looking for a couch, but we ended up browsing through dining tables, TV stands, and end tables as well. Doug was incredibly patient and thoroughâhe took the time to draw out each room and helped us figure out exactly where the furniture would be placed when it arrives at my sonâs apartment on Thursday, July 3rd.
I canât tell you what a godsend he was for us during this important moment in my sonâs life. Doug made what could have been a stressful day feel exciting, manageable, and even fun. His kindness and attention to detail were above and beyond anything we expected.
I was so impressed with Doug that I came back to the Ashley Furniture Warehouse the very next day, on Sunday, June 22nd, this time with my daughter, who just moved into her first home. We arrived just before 5 PM, and honestly, I didnât think she would buy anything that day.
But once again, Doug greeted us with the same warm, helpful attitude. He guided my daughter through her options and answered every question with care. By the time we left, she had purchased a couch, dining table, TV stand, and end tablesâeverything she needed to make her house a home.
Doug also helped both of my kids apply for financing, which was such a huge help as theyâre both starting out on their own.
Ashley Furniture is incredibly lucky to have someone like Doug on their team. He made a real difference in both of my childrenâs lives, and I couldnât be more grateful for the way he took care of our family on...
