Went with my family for my sister's birthday. I ordered 2pcs of fish with fries, I don't like coleslaw so I substituted for extra fries. When the food came they gave me the coleslaw instead of the extra fries. I told the waitress and she said she would replace it. I found it strange that the waitress asked for the coleslaw back because in my experience when an order was wrong they just let you keep the item. I watched her to see if she was going to throw it out or not. I was disgusted to see her put the same cup of coleslaw she took from in front of me and put it on the plate of someone else's order 🤢🤮 Not only is that ethically wrong, gross, and cheap it is a health code violation in the state of NC. The waitress brought me a basket of fries. The fries were not cooked all the way. Just to make sure it wasn't just a few of the fries that were undercooked I took small bites off several fries to test them out. After discovering a majority of the fries were not done I asked the waitress if she could get me a new order of fries because they were not cooked. The waitress replied to me asking if I wanted a new order of fries with the fries cooked well done...... which made me think she was being cheeky or sarcastic because I wanted the fries cooked period not well done 🤔 so she brought me an order of fries. Upon inspection before I started eating them I noticed they just put my original fries back in the fryer and cooked them longer. I know this because I had taken bites off the fries previously to taste check them. The so called new fries she put in front of me had tips missing off them where I bit them off. That is also a health code violation, you can't take any food that's been put in front of a customer and partially picked at, eaten, touched, even breathed on, and take it back to the kitchen and add it to oil that they are still using for other orders. Can you say contamination! Other than the food the staff was nice and helpful. Showmars dishes are way too pricey for them to be treating food in...
Read moreMy wife and I attempted to have lunch at this Showmars location yesterday and were excited to try their vegan pita. Our (10 month old) son is allergic to dairy and my wife cannot have dairy at all. The menu says to ask about vegan friendly options and to be sure to let them know if someone has an allergy. So we did.
The staff then informed us that nothing was actually vegan. Even the pita with VEGAN in the title was not actually vegan, they told us, because all the pita's have milk in them. I asked if they were sure - and pointed out the aforementioned name of the meal and the large "Vegan Friendly" decal beside the menu item. It even said vegan on the allergen menu but the staff insisted that it actually was not! This is an allergy, not a preference or even lactose intolerance, and as such it is important to be 100% confident that my wife doesn't consume dairy.
In the end, my wife and I had to leave because they were quite sure the meal could not be prepared without milk. We drove about 15 minutes out of our way on what was more or less our first "date" since our son was born. We received poor service from a crew that was apparently poorly trained. Their lack of trust in the company materials is disconcerting and makes me wonder what may be going on in...
Read moreWe've been visiting this location for a very long time with mostly great experiences. However, this particular day, we (as usual) requested something very simple, a few cups of courtesy ice as we need it for personal/medical reasons. 👉🏼 When we arrived to pickup our online order, we were told that the manager on duty, Waldo, refused to serve us the courtesy cups of ice as normal and that we would have to pay for any additional cups requested. 😯
🙁 We informed the server that this was not the normal process and that we've always been greeted and served the courtesy cups of ice. She said her manager would not let her provide them for us for free.
🤷♂️ For something so simple, this should not have become an inconvenience given the circumstance. We suggest that the manage on duty show more care and concern for their visitors needs.
Our recommendation: Visit a different showmars when Waldo is on duty because you may be rejected service for whatever reason...
