EDIT: I returned to buy another pair of headphones, and had one of the worst experiences in my life, and would never go back there unless these employees who held me hostage are fired. The clerk there, who didn't have a clue what he was doing, told me they were sold out of the karaoke microphone I'd wanted (he also told me they had headphone cables for sale, which they absolutely don't, and thus I ended up purchasing wireless headphones I didn't even want, but that is another story...) so the clerk told me I could order online to pick up there. I repeatedly told him the online store said it was available already for pick up at that location and thus it must be in the store, but he insisted it was not and that I order online. I did so and found the rest of the items I was purchasing in the store, as I walked to the checkout, I saw the microphone he had forced me to order- on the shelves... 🤦♂️ so I picked one up and walked to the register. I told the cashier who just arrived I had ordered it online but I wanted to cancel that and just purchase the item with the other items i was purchasing. She seemed very prejudiced as she accused me of trying to steal the item I was trying to purchase- when in fact, I'd already paid on my card! She finally said she couldn't cancel the order and I'd have to wait a half an hour for the guy who could. I said fine, I'll just pay for my items, buy another pair of the headphones and I can cancel the order I already made from the internet, at home. She refused! How is that possible? How dare she? I said fine, I'll just buy all this now like anyone who came into this store and i won't cancel the microphone I already paid for, since you are confused about it, and I'll have 2 of them them when i only need one, just let me buy my things and leave! I have low blood sugar and I could pass out on the floor. This insane teenage girl ran around turning all the cash registers off so I couldn't buy my items!!! At that point i tried to leave, I didn't even want to buy anything anymore, but they said they would charge me with theft for leaving the store EMPTY-HANDED if I didn't wait a half an hour for the guy who could cancel the order I'D ALREADY PAID FOR ONLINE!!! These people are incompetent, insane, and criminal: I'm seriously considering pressing criminal charges. NEVER GO INTO THIS MADHOUSE
There's always such cool stuff up there. I always find great gifts there, and I just got the greatest...
Read moreAs a frequent shopper of the Mayfield Heights 5 below I am appalled at the treatment I was given. I took my son to spend his weekly allowance….the machine wouldn’t take our $100 bill. Fine, I ask for assistance, the manager tells me he can’t tell if the bill is fake or not. I asked him the determining factor, in which he said, “we know it’s real, if there are ridges on the collar.” But he can only do this with newer $100 bills. Well, guess what this was an older bill. I then ask what’s the determining factor for older bills, and to my surprise they don’t have one! How disgusting! I go next door to get my pick up order, and they accept the bill after their pen mark check without any incident! I say this to say I have spent thousands of dollars at this particular 5 below and to be treated like this is unacceptable! I will not be back, nor will I recommend anyone to come back! The manager was rude and nonchalant! We did not get what my son wanted and now I have to go elsewhere, when this is right in my own community and...
Read moreI am sympathetic to the employees, they are always short handed. The checkout line is always very long, and customers needing assistance can't find it. The staff is usually patient and take a lot of abuse from frustrated shoppers. The guy tonight was polite and helpful, dispite the obvious angry and impatient customers behind me. I am going to ask questions about the reason products differ. I am there to purchase the items that I want, dislike that there's few people on the floor to ask for help (also I feel it's important to treat the employees and other customers respectfully.) I am in the store to get what I need if I have a question about something, I am going to ask. You need get more checkout people. If you can't find anyone to staff your store, raise the...
