Update 6/10/22: Carl, the director of Operations reached out to me personally after all this time to rectify the situation. Not only did he make time on his free time to call me himself but he’s taken extra steps for make sure my issues were heard. This is what i like to see when it comes to customer service.
Server bypassed table for our first 10min then briefly arrived to let us know she’ll be back. Came by eventually to ask for our order and didn’t give her name. Brought our drinks and after tasting what was effectively water with a touch of pineapple, I wanted to send this “Pineapple Express” back. Realizing me and my guest did not know the name of our server, we had to ask other employees to help us find her. She was focusing her full attention on a bigger table that arrived after us even to the point of quickly getting their orders. She eventually returned to take my drink and replace it with something else. The purple haze I got was amazing. We got our meals after a bit of a wait as our server was focused on that other table. My chickichanga(spelling?) had enough cilantro in it to season several meals. The toast tasted as if it had been sitting out and was practically room temperature. Half of the potatoes were undercooked and crunchy as if they just seasoned it and served with little effort of cooking. Pretty much the only thing I enjoyed was the water and my second drink. The saddest part of all of this, I finally got my server’s name at the end of my meal after prompting it when she was dropping off the check. But luckily Talullah(our server) and some hiccups won’t prevent me from giving this place another chance. Hopefully next time, our server won’t prioritize a bigger table that came after us leading to another server to have to pick up the slack and we will be able to have a great experience as I feel is very possible as First Watch from what others...
Read moreThere is plenty of parking at this establishment because it is in a shopping square. The ambiance is a rustic, farm-like charm and the service staff that waits on tables is fantastic. The prices are affordable. However, the food does not measure up to the price. I ordered a Bocado Omelet and spring salad on the side. The best part of the meal was the spring salad. The omelet was not bad, but it was barely warm and there was more egg than filling. My wife order Eggs Benedict, and the whites of the egg were extremely runny. We understand Eggs Benedict is suppose to have some fluidity to it, however, this was drastically undercooked. The server agreed and graciously took it back for us. When the new order of Eggs Benedict arrived, there was barely any bread underneath the Eggs, and zero flavor. I guess that's the price you pay when you send food back. When we proceeded to the checkout, we accidently handed our credit card to the cashier for payment, and she said, "You put the card in the machine right there. Yeah, we actually make you work around here." The comment was sarcastic and snide. It was completely unnecessary. The Chef or cook was at the register as well. The cook just glared at us in silence, which I thought was odd. We went to First Watch because a friend recommended it. I guess our friend didn't send...
Read moreI want to preface this review by stating I’ve been a long time customer, since the location has been in the Mayfield area and have always loved the service and quality while in house for a meal. However, anytime I wish to receive carry out from this chain the order is always carelessly put together with less effort or care than in house. For a breakfast chain this place can never cook a over medium egg regardless dine in or carry out. Not only was my farm house hash saturated in oil but the cheesy grits were microwaved in the container they were delivered in as well as smothered in oil or butter, you can tell by the shrinkage they were microwaved and left aside. Also, the gravy for biscuits was lacking in hardiness and was a watered down version of itself.
As a chef in restaurants and fine dinning in the greater Cleveland area, I find this level of care infuriating; where is the passion for quality and pride in your dishes; in house and carry out should be a mirror image. I’m not even going to touch on portion control for carryout as it would be lacking for the charge of any of the plates or dishes in question.
I will still continue to eat here but I refuse to carry out anymore as it has been more that almost 2 handfuls of times in giving the benefit of the doubt.
