I purchased my dress here back in January for my October 2025 wedding. Trying the dresses on went fine and I was lucky enough to find my dream dress in their sale room. I went ahead and reached out in April to schedule my dress fitting, I asked their availability and they scheduled me for today (Saturday 7/12/25 @ 10:30AM). Yesterday, I was at work and I got a call around 3:30PM, it was the store stating that āthey were super busy and overbooked for the dayā and needed to reschedule me because āit was my first fitting and they wanted to make sure there was enough timeā. My dress really fit perfectly and I just needed it hemmed and the bustle. You are telling me you JUST realized the afternoon before my fitting that you are overbooked? On the date and time you chose? Not only that, I was just super excited to try my dress on again! I told so many people I was getting fitted and just excited to share the moment with my mom and sister and see my dress again.
My mom and sister drove 3 hours to be there for my fitting and they had already left and were on their way hereā¦..took time off from work. It is beyond unprofessional to ārealizeā the day before that you are āoverbookedā and call to cancel the dress fitting. Then they ask if I wanted to come in Monday, yeah I really want to take time off from work and go to my dress fitting aloneā¦seriously. They did try to reschedule me but due to my busy schedule and upcoming commitments, it was super inconvenient for me. Like I am planning my wedding and itās the middle of the summer.
I read some other reviews about alterations and other negative customer service at this store. I started getting really nervous and just frustrated with how I was treated at this point. So I called and asked if I could pick my dress up because I decided the anxiety/stress and unprofessional way they handled this was not worth it to me.
When I called, they asked if I had been told my dress was āready to be picked upā. Well yeah, I bought the dress off the rack from the sale room lol. Then she asked me to confirm my name/dress brand, etc. She then took my phone number down and asked to call me back if there were any issues. Then I got a call a little while later, she asked me if I could text her a picture of my dress and if she could call me backā¦.? I texted her a picture of my dress and then I got a call back a little later saying I could pick it up before 5. They were unapologetic and really seemed like they could care less about the inconvenience they called me. We also drove by the store earlier in the day and they did not look ābusyā at all.
When we stopped by to get the dress there was barely anyone in there, and there was even a woman who stopped by and said āI called 25 minutes ago to see if I could try some dresses onāā¦.LOL but you were too busy to do my fitting that was already scheduled months ago? The woman handed me my dress and literally just says āgood luckāā¦..thanks?? No apology for the inconvenience, just blatantly rude. I am glad I took my business elsewhere, and the estimate for the alternations sounded overpriced to begin with considering I didnāt need much done to the dress.
While I did find my dream dress here, I would be careful. I would not recommend them to anyone personally unless youāre looking to do what I did, and buy a dress in the sale room- I would definitely recommend taking it somewhere else to get alterations so you do not need the added stress or inconvenience of having them cancel on you the afternoon the day before the fitting.
Update: They called and left me a voicemail saying this review is āunfairā, no apology. They state I āgladly rescheduled my appointmentā when I was clearly irritated on the phone with them. They are back tracking saying I never said that my mom/sister were driving up. Not sure what that has anything to do with anything, if you were overbooked you were overbooked. I donāt want you to rush my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStay away from this place!!If I could give it 0 stars, I would.
Since it had been in the same location for over 25 years, we thought it would be reputable. Not so. In retrospect, we should have checked the Google reviews beforehand, as we found many similar complaints.
In a nutshell, they altered my daughter's gown in such a way it could not be restored to what she wanted (they completely changed the neckline), leaving us with a gown that needed additional work 1 week prior to the wedding (detailed account below.)
The gown we purchased (from them) had a boat neck with a square back. Prior to purchasing, we asked for 2 very specific alterations: change the back to a V back and slightly lower (but keep the boatneck.) Val - the seamstress - assured us she could do both easily.
After a few fittings, the back was changed to a V back but the bodice, though lowered, had also been changed from a boatneck to a scoop neck. Val - again - assured her this would be fixed for the next and final fitting. We have dated photos to prove this.
Although I live several hours away, I agreed to join my daughter for this supposedly "final fitting." Upon arrival, we were taken to a fitting room; the gown there had a bodice that was not only a scoop neck but it was GRAY! On a white gown!G We were shocked. Where was our gown??
Val assured us this was just a temporary bodice; she didn't want to "make any more marks" on the actual dress. We asked to see the original bodice but was told it was "in the work room" & could not get it that day but they would put it back on the gown. They suggested we were being very difficult and, rather than make any more alterations, they would refund us the cost of the gown and we could elsewhere. 2 weeks before the wedding. That should have been our clue that they had made an irreversible mistake.
It is now 1 week before the actual wedding. When my daughter arrives to pick up the gown, she notes 5 problems: -the BODICE has NOT been changed - it is still a scoop neck -the STRAPS of the gown still have BASTING stitches in them -the LINING has not been hemmed and is longer than the gown -the BUSTLE is poorly done and did not sit properly when up -the gown was NOT EVEN PRESSED
Furthermore, Val and Maria (the owner) tell my daughter that hey should really charge her more because of all the work they did, they will honor their original agreement to a maximum of $500 for alterations.
Clearly, they had made a mistake in cutting while trying to lower the original bodice. Rather than own that mistake, they tried to tell my daughter that this is exactly what she had asked for. We have several dated pictures to prove otherwise.
I repeat....purchase your gown elsewhere. These people were extremely unprofessional. Note to self: check ALL reviews before committing to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI can not express enough the disappointment in this company. I rarely leave a bad review, but what they did to my best friend - the bride - is completely unacceptable.
She fell in love with a dress back in November. Sent pictures to all the bridesmaids and was so excited. As a young bride would be. She picked her shoes to match, found jewlery, the whole shebang. Her favorite part - the lace sleeves that they said could be attached. She was especially excited about them, we talked multiple times about these sleeves. Loved it enough to come from a different state to buy this dress (Lives in Maine)
2 months ago she started calling to ask when it would be ready to be picked up. She had a seamstress she really liked that had a busy schedule but could fit her in - for early summer. Should not have been a problem. SHE ORDERED THE DRESS IN NOVEMBER. Every time she called the staff was rude and despondent. Kept saying it would be ready next week. After a month she started to get worried. She was coming to me, and the other bridesmaids feeling anxious. (There is a lot of moving parts in a wedding, you would think the people helping with the dress would be nice at least.)
2 months of fighting with the sales clerks she finally asked to speak with the owner. They kept brushing her off. Last week finally the dress came in and she finds out it had been at the shop already for a week. By this time she has had to do a rush job to find a new seamstress and is praying it is enough time.
The biggest issue is that when she goes to get the dress the owner has told her they actually DO NOT have the sleeves she bought and they are a chiffon fabric not lace as told before. That was the selling factor for the dress. Understandably the bride is upset. Devastated. The owner asks what she can do to help. The bride asked for a refund and the owner has agreed to it.
But a week later is now saying she wont get a refund for her expensive dress that she wanted due to the sleeves. It is ridiculous to me that a company that is in the buisness of helping brides was negligent about such an important part of the dress. And to make an empty promise really sits horribly with me. For the love of everything, if you make a promise as a business owner - FOLLOW THROUGH.
Don't make the mistake of working with these guys. They dont care about you, they only care about money and give false information to people to make a sale. There are plenty of wedding boutiques. My suggestion. Use a...
