Deli Delight — Restaurant in Medford

Well this was a bummer. Used to come here a lot when I was younger, the food was always good and the place was always busy. I guess there was a change in ownership, and they do not seem friendly or hospitable at all. Anyway, decided to stop in on a whim since I had told my girlfriend about the place. Firstly, there is NOBODY eating here. It's literally just sketchy tweeker looking characters popping in and going straight back to the video poker area. We take a seat at a booth by the window, comfortable enough seats. My gf happens to look to the side to see the lady eyeballing her from the kitchen, before she comes over and says we have to change seats because "there's a nail sticking out the back" or something, I could barely understand the lady. No sign that the booth is not to be used or anything, and nothing seemed wrong with it. Weird, as if she just didn't want us to see into the kitchen. Now onto the food - it used to be great. Juicy burgers, great fries. But these patties were the dryest, nastiest things I've ever had here, and the fries tasted like freezer-burnt styrofoam.

It really seems like they just don't care about quality, and thought they'd be making more money, somehow, selling scratch-it tickets and hosting video poker. The people working didn't seem like they wanted to be there, no enthusiasm at all, no effort, and the food was absolutely not worth the price. I wanted to hope maybe we caught them on an off-day, because this place used to be my favorite. But whatever I just had was nothing like it used to be. Terrible. Can't...

My first time coming in, I wanted to try a good burger joint so I went in to eat, Ordered a Avocado burger with a side of fries and a drink (meal combo). I'm usually not one to review stuff but I sit down at the window to get a good view outside, I looked into the direction of the kitchen and the lady came out after seeing I was looking towards her and the boy that was working there, she then comes and tells me to not sit there and sits me on the other side of the place mind you (nobody else is there eating or ordering) the fries came out first before the rest of the food, while eating them they tasted freezer burnt and it felt like I was biting into cardboard/stire foam the fries just had me feeling like I was eating recooked old fries. The burger came out, it's covered top and bottom bun in mustard that was over powering, tons of onions and the patty of the Burger was so dry and not edible it was just all around not a good meal and 40.00 was NOT the worth the food I ended up getting. Overall it was me there with my partner, we both couldn't eat we had to toss our food. There's homeless and tweakers in and out, some tweaker lady came in with a boy very young like 4 maybe just up and left the kid there while she went to play the video lottery. I will not be coming back here.. this was overall a major bummer and I was wanting to eat and enjoy the experience and couldn't. Huge thumbs down...

After a day of shopping we stopped here for a quick lunch before heading home. We ordered a Reuben with fries and a drink. The total was $18, which I think is steep for what we got. The sandwich was pretty good I'll say, and the fries were fresh—but not worth $18 by any margin.

There was only one other customer in the dining area during our visit, but we could hear what sounded like 3-5 people in the video lottery area behind the partition. They were a quite noisy responding to the game they were playing and making phone calls, but I get it. If the lottery is your thing, this could be your spot!

On a positive note, the menu is certainly extensive! You're bound to find something that sounds appealing. Great for picky eaters.

Overall, I don't think we'll be back. But definitely give it a shot and see how...
