THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, EVER. I dropped my ring off a week ago to have it sized. I called to get an update and they told me to call back after 3:30pm. They called me a few hours laters, to let me know that there had been a misunderstanding and my ring was never sized (even though the repair ticket specifically has the new size CIRCLED), and it would be another week before it would be completed. I was upset and questioned how it was overlooked and was asked "Why are you upset, is this some kind of heirloom or does it have sentimental value or something?" Not only is that irrelevant, I was told a week, and the mistake was their fault. Not mine. Not to mention, that's just rude. The man on the phone told me I was welcome to drive to Wooster to the repair site to get my ring if I wanted. I can't even believe that was offered. I was told "I can offer you a loaner ring to wear if it's that much of a problem". I cannot even begin to fathom how you learn such poor customer service or feel comfortable representing a company like that. I called back and was told the repair guy would make a "special trip just for me" and he did. He brought my ring back, same as when I dropped it off. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I should have known when I dropped the ring off to be sized and they asked me to pay for it up front that this was going...
Read moreWe've done business with Lyle's Jewelry & Coin for many years. Having purchased every form of jewelry, gold, silver, ephemera (money and other forms of valuable paper), not to mention other valuable pieces that we've seen for sale in the shop, the majority of our purchases have always turned out to be more valuable than Lyle's asking price. In some instances we felt a little guilty when we shopped it and found out how much we could get online or in some other venue. Like so many who shop this unique store, we've developed a personal relationship that exposes high integrity, knowledge, and fair ownership and employees. Lyle's provides a service to the community that very few businesses can provide: taking possessions in for purchase so people can pay their bills and eat. For us, Lyle is more than a friend. He has become extended family. Though "Buyer and Seller Beware" is ALWAYS the best policy, as far as Lyle's Jewelry & Coin, because of Lyle's faith-based integrity we do not worry about...
Read moreWhen looking for the engagement ring for my girlfriend, now wife, the lady at the counter went to get the owner/manager when I had some queations about what was in the case. With his door open he loudly asked how much I was going to spend. The lady came out and nicely ask what my price range was and went back to him with the answer. Uppon hearing it he said, again with his door wide open, "that is not worth my time, he can look but I am not going to answer his questions".
There was not another soul in the place and while I was not going to spend 10k it was over a thousand dollars I was looking to put down and would have done more if I had seen something I liked.
Went to the place a few doors south and was treated exceptionally well, ended up buying engagment ring, both wedding rings, a watch for a groom's man, and got something repaired there as well. All said spent 10k, I guess Lyle does not...
