I've actually been here twice and neither time was a great experience.
I want to start off by saying the staff is very lovely and the store is clean but that is around where my positive opinions end. If you love sequins you'll also probably enjoy this shop as about 75% had some form of sequins.
The first time I went here, I was 14 shopping for a quince dress. Despite the website and window banners saying they do quince dresses as well, they said "we don't really do quince dresses but we can check if we have any in store". At the time I was a dress size 18 and they had no quince dresses in my size in the entire store.
A few years later, I had lost a ton of weight and was prom dress shopping. I thought I would try this store again as I was a size 10 and was no longer plus size. When we asked where size 10 dresses were they said the first and second "cubby". A cubby is basically an 1/8th or so of a rack. So in the entire store they only had a 1/4th a rack at most of size 10 dresses. Mind you, this is for every single color and style. A lot of the tags say "available in sizes 0-20" or whatever which may be true, but there is almost none actually available in store. its not gonna be realistic for someone size 18 to imagine what a dress would look like on them when the biggest size in that style is a 6 or something. And I should mention all the dresses are in a plastic protector and crammed together on the rack so it's hard to even see the selection.
I had my heart set on a blush pink/pastel pink color dress and there were only 2 light pink size 10 dresses in the Entire! Store!! (both were quite matronly as well, in my opinion.)
The sales associates told us we can try size 8 and 12 as well as different colors to see if they can order another size and color if we happen to like a certain style. We did as told after seeing how extremely small the options were for the dress we wanted. When we tried a size 12 dress and asked if it came in other colors or sizes she said the dress was too big and went to grab a size 8 and 10. I tried to explain that I know its too large, but tried it on because there were so few options in my size, but perhaps she didn't hear me or understand me because she still grabbed two random dresses.
The associate then asked more details on what I was looking for and I very specifically said I was looking for light pinks, and pointed to the dressing room curtains as a reference, which were a very, very soft and pale shell pink. My mom and I also explained we were looking for things that were delicate or ethereal in style. She said we can try something but it might be a little bit darker than what we were looking for, then came back with a super bright neon pink dress with large rhinestones. I understand that she was just trying her best with the limited selection so I dont hold it against her but it was pretty frustrating.
Another thing, the prices were really expensive. The dress on the mannequin out front was $750 and the simple spaghetti strap dress I tried was $400.
Also, I understand this is personal taste, however I found many of the dresses to be quite a dated style. There was a lot of seafoam and bright coral dresses, along with so many sequins, which was really reminiscent of 2014 style formalwear.
I've tried to give this store multiple chances now and it has been frustrating both times. If you don't have anything specific in mind and are a size 2-6 you'll probably have an easier time finding something here, but if you're looking for a specific color/style or are larger than a size 8 you'll have problems...
Read moreWe have purchased from this store previously and had a great experience. We took the dress home from the store the first time. On February 2nd, we purchased a prom dress it had to be shipped as they had none in stock. I paid for the shipping and they told us it would arrive in 4-6 weeks. A tracking number was received about 4 weeks later but no information was ever available. Like they printed the label and that was it. We called Prom and Beyond several times and none of the times did they apologize nor call back. We had to keep chasing them. Then they said they reshipped the dress and would have tracking info a week ago, then they would have it last night. This morning when I called Brittany said it still hadn't shipped. I asked if I could just get a refund. She said she would have to talk to management because it isn't their fault, they've never seen the dress before. Again, not a single apology. She told me they have other businesses other than the prom store so they were busy. I had to call my credit card company to reverse the charge because after almost 2 months of the run around, I'm quite positive we would have never received a dress. Buyer beware there is no customer service or concern here. Go elsewhere, we will be...
Read moreMy daughter is a plus size girl, we have visited this place numerous times in the past and have purchased dresses from them. On our visit today, we stood at the counter for 5 mins or longer and not a single person even acknowledged our presence. Not one of the workers gave us their name so that we could ask them for any help. There were only 2 other girls in the shop trying on dresses. We had to finally find a worker to ask where the dresses in her size could be found and we were told they were back in the storage part and she would have to find someone to go back there with us to look. After they brought 2 racks of dresses out we were left on our own . No one helped my daughter but all the workers were swooning over the other 2 girls. I have never felt so disappointed and disrespected.we will never return to this store nor will I ever reccomend them to anyone. Not every girl is a size 2. But EVERY GIRL deserves to be swooned upon and felt to be important. Thankfully we were able to find a little shop called Helen's. She was wonderful and so kind and helpful. Purchased my daughter's dress from her and will definitely be...
