Slackers — Local services in Mehlville

If you think Gamestop is bad, you haven't been to this Slackers location. They sold me a game with a different disk in the box (they sold me the original Ninja Gaiden 3 in a Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge box), and when I tried to return it the person behind the counter (which I also believe was the manager) acted like it was my fault, was extremely rude and would not take it back or even offer me my money back, even though it was done on the same day, with the receipt! The workers are rude and unfriendly, have zero knowledge on the items they sell, and you don't have to even be into niche music, movies or video games to see their selection is inferior,...

It had been a few years since I went into Slackers, and I remember why after hitting this location up this past weekend. The store was in good shape, well organized, but their prices are through the roof. They were selling a DS Lite for $120, something that routinely sells on ebay for $70-$75, sometimes cheaper too. Everything from music to toys is marked up by at least 20%, if not 40%.

Their prices are extremely unrealistic, and if they end up going out of business it will be because of what looks like unfettered greed. There is absolutely no reason to shop here, unless you like paying for extremally...

If I could give zero stars I would. Called to ask how much they would give me for an original PS2. They quoted me $50 in check or $60 in store credit. So I drove all the way over to the store which is 15 to 20 minutes from my house depending on traffic, for the man in the store to try at least 3 games in there and they worked great, so he continued to put more games in there without restarting it, then said nope it’s broken, can’t take it. I’ve had it for several years now and it works fine, never had a problem. Don’t bother wasting a trip to sell to them. Waste of...
