JCPenney — Local services in Mehlville

I am a regular at Jc Penney. I remember coming out empty handed maybe once or twice in my life from this store. I love their sales and they really do have something for everyone. Before yesterday, the last few times I went, the store was a mess. Clothes were all over the place, you could not find easily your size, color, brand etc. Everything was too crowded. Frankly it looked like tornado went through the store for a lack of better expression. They are having some kind of construction which closes part of the store so it’s understandable that it seems crowded. They probably also had staffing issues due to unorganized shelves, scuffled clothes. I actually wanted to write a review earlier and point it out in hopes I would bring it to their attention but I forgot. I am actually glad I forgot because yesterday the store was in such a better condition. There was a small section that still had scuffled clothes all over the place but the rest of the store was in better condition. You actually were able to look at different colors and sizes without having to dig through a pile of clothes. The registers were much more efficient and almost every free employee was asking if I needed help finding something when I walked by them. I also noticed 2-3 employees actually organizing and folding clothes. When I go shopping I am more likely to buy something from a store that is much more organized and eye appealing. They need to find a way to organize or lower their clearance section. I was listening to few ladies yesterday complain how they can’t find anything and how everything is all over the place, sizes are mixed up and there is just too much to go through. It feels like the same items in clearance section linger for months. When I go to West County Jc Penney they seem to be so much more organized and smaller quantities of clearance items. Not sure if the system is different in that store but South County really needs to be freshened up in that section. I am sure many stores are experiencing abundance of merchandise as the effects of Covid but a big chain such as Jc Penney should be prepared for situation like that and find...

My mom goes here and has ALWAYS GONE HERE 4 ALL HER LANDCOME MAKEUP 💄 nd watnot, Im NOT really an expert on makeup prices, but I DO KNOW that wen U buy THEIR LANDCOME MAKEUP frm here on a reguler basis, they have GR8 free gifts and U can sign up 4 a sort of rewards program, and get discounts and MORE free gifts 🎁. BUT I DO however get my cologne frm here, and tho it may B a bit EXPENSIVE, they have the GD NAME BRANDS, and not the shoty, failed, bootleg, sad attempts of FAKE NAME BRANDS, that only smell GD 4 if ur lucky, an hr orso at the VERY MAX!!! No, Ur getting tue REAL DEAL NAME BRANDS, that U only need 2-3 sprays of, and u'll smell GR8 ALL DAY LONG!!! 😀😀😀👍👍👍😎😎😎 But AGIN, U pay 4 the quality, but N the LONG RUN, ITS TOTALLY WORTH IT, I mean 4 a 50ml OR 1.7 FL.OZ, bottle of CHANEL BLEU, is kinda pricy, comen N at 87.99$, and thats the smaller bottle, the BIGGER bottle is closer to 130$ for 3.4 FL. OZ... So N the looong run, its ACTULLY kinda cheaper 2 get the bigger bottle... Yes, U R spending MORE money 4it, but ur gettin a fair bit MORE as faras the amount ur getting, so if U can afford the BIGGER bottle, its ACTULLY worth it N the end... Sorry that this is the ONLY small bit of information Ino about this store, but its ALL ive EVER gone N there 4... Ino they have clothes 👚, and shoes 👠 4 men and wemen, and a few novelty items here N there, but Im not very knowledgeable on ALL of thier other products and watnot, BUT Yeah, I hope wat lol bita info I DO know about this store will B healpful 2 maby at LEAST a person or 2 down the line maby, and if not then im sorry 4 wasting Ur time by haven been and read this... The loss prevention is borderline harassing. I’ve been in this store multiple times and every time I’ve been, a bigger black man has followed me around the store. The first time it scared me before I knew he was loss prevention, and then I thought to myself “ok he’s just doing his job”. But the few other times I’ve been in after that, he stays within 100 feet and I can see him “nonchalantly” following me with his eyes. It makes me so uncomfortable and nervous even though I’m doing nothing wrong! I get that I have a tattoo sleeve on my arm so maybe I’m being stereotyped (which is annoying in itself) but they take their job a little too far. Whatever theft problems they have at this location should not be affecting how uncomfortable I feel as a person just trying to shop! The last time I was there I didn’t even exit thru JCP because of this man (which is where I entered the mall). I will never be back (not that the store cares).

The reviews on this JCP are deceiving. I love shopping at J.C. Penney but do yourself a favor and go to the one at west county mall or one of the many other locations. This one is also a disaster, things are never stocked and the displays are a mess making everything hard to find.
