What a nightmare.
I placed an online pickup order to be picked up yesterday from this Aldi location. I received a text that they did not have anyone available to fulfill the order yesterday so it would be running late. No problem! I dont mind coming late as this service is a convenience and I just appreciate not having to spend the extra time in the store myself.
This morning I get a text message AND an email that my Aldi order is complete and ready for pickup. Great! I head over the store and bring my dog since they just bring it out to me and I wont have to actually go into the store.
I get there and realize that the text stating my order was complete did not come with a link to let the store know I am there (like it usually does). No problem, I can just call the store directly and let them know I've arrived.
Well, it turns out that in the name of saving money, Aldi no longer lists the number to stores so I am not able to contact the store directly. Normally I would just head inside at this point and let them know I'm here, but its been unusually hot outside and I had my dog wirh me (since I was not supposed to have to go inside) and I dont want to leave him in the heat incase they take a while to gather the bags for my order.
So now I find a customer support number for Aldi in general and spend almost 30 minutes on the phone with customer service while I contact them, they contact the store, and then they tell me what the store said (efficient, right?)
This is when they tell me that although the email, app, and texts say that my order is ready, they do not have my order. Apparently its "stuck in the system" and although every form of communication Aldi has says it's ready and to come pick it up, they dont have it.
You might be thinking, what's the big deal? Why not just go drop the dog off and come back and shop for yourself? Great idea! Except the hold on my card is still active.
So now I dont have any groceries and I dont have the money to buy the groceries in person, which although would have been annoying considering this whole process has already taken almost an hour of day, would have at least been better than not having groceries or the money for them.
I tell this to customer support and instead of them being able to cancel the order and release the hold on my card, they have to "escalate" the issue and I wont get my money back until I hear from the escalation team which will take "at least" 24 hours - possibly more.
So now I have no groceries, do not have access to the money to buy groceries, and will have to wait at least a day, probably more in order to get that back. What was the advice from the Aldi Customer Support associate as I ask what I'm supposed to do with no groceries and no money for groceries?

Read morejust left this location at about 1:50pm and i had a horrible experience, the shopping, and deals were great but the checkout was horrendous. i was trying to grab some bags to purchase for my groceries and apparently the cashier didnât like how long it was taking so she checked out the person behind me first, fine she had less items than me itâs not a big deal, but after that while she was checking out my things she made me insert my card BEFORE she was even done scanning my things. at first i declined and then she told me AGAIN to insert my card so i felt like i HAD to. i had no idea how much i just paid for my groceries until she gave me my receipt!! i felt so rushed and unwanted. i honestly donât feel i want to come back to this location if this is how i will be treated. iâve been shopping here for years and i have never had such low quality customer service. extremely disappointed. there wasnât even a long line, it was just us and the other lady she checked out before us. I never asked the cashier her name but my receipt says itâs arlene. i hope this is handled accordingly, and she is retrained to be a little more accommodating towards paying/all customers. I understand the need to be quick and get everybody in and out, but some common courtesy would be...
Read moreThis is the best grocery store chain you can find, and I see why they have locations just about everywhere. The store is very organized, clean, and well-stocked. If you need help finding anything, the associates will go out of their way to help (they will literally drop what they're doing and walk over with you to help you find what you're looking for). Their prices are also very competitive, and even though they have mostly off-brand items, they're comparable in quality to big name brands. I get a LOT of Instacart orders for this store, and I also do my personal shopping here, and have never had a bad experience. I especially love the great selection of dairy products and produce. You need to have a quarter on you to get a cart, but you can get it back when you put your cart away properly (other stores should take a lesson from this). It's hard to justify shopping anywhere else if there's an...
