Outback Steakhouse – Great Lakes Mall, Mentor OH This was my first — and last — Outback experience. The bathroom set the tone: no hand dryer, very low paper towels, and urine on the floor you had to tiptoe around. At 4pm on a Saturday, that’s beyond unacceptable. The food? One salty disaster after another. The Blooming Onion was buried under sodium. The Tasmanian Chili wasn’t spicy, just brined to death. My salad arrived with soggy lettuce and tired cherry tomatoes, nothing fresh or crisp about it. My entrée — lobster tail and filet mignon — was shockingly small. I finished both in seconds. The microwaved butter poured out nicely… until the salt settled at the bottom, forcing me to strain it off my food. The sirloin was cooked pink as preferred, but unbelievably small and just as salty. The ribs were taken to go, worried they’d be impossible to taste under all the salt. And the service? When I asked for extra silverware, a server looked at me like I had two heads. Worse, when I pointed out the overwhelming salt, our own server suggested I must be “sensitive to salt.” That isn’t service — that’s gaslighting. For balance: the raspberry tea was good. But when the highlight of a $130 dinner is the iced tea, that’s not just disappointing — it’s daylight robbery. My companion joked that the salt was so extreme it burned the roof of the mouth and that they were now “preserved on the inside.” Outback should stop blaming customers and start rethinking recipes, training, and basic standards. Until then, I’ll stick to restaurants that know how to season food — and clean their bathrooms. PS: the espresso martini was basic.

So I visited today and ordered med-well Ribeye. My sever brings out my plate with half of my order on it and had to go back and get the my broccoli. while she was gone I cut my steak it was well done. I called another nice black Male server over and said is this how you guys med-well he said no this is well done. So he took my steak to the back. Then my server (shannonW) came back with a different with a different steak and said cut it... once again well done to the point it was hard to cut. She said do you want me to take it back ? I told her at this point I just eat my baked potato and broccoli. Then she asked me do you want the manager I told her No I just want a box and my bill. So Shannon which is WHITE goes back and tell her manager I said cursed at her several times which was an blanket lie. I had two kids with me and that's not my personality. I told the manager I just want my food cook right Clearly you guys don't know how to cook steak . this server just lied on me. He said their policy is if you curse at a server you have to leave . I told him I didn't curse at her. I told him give me my bill. Then he says I take off your blooming onion. I wasn't looking for no discount I wanted my food cooked right then I get lied on. SMH. What I want to tell people don't complain about the food or they would lie cause they knoe the policy. Worst Customer Service Ever FYI never touched the steak left it on the plate and still paid my $50 bill

We had the worse meal ever there yesterday Aug.5, 2022. Decided to use a gift card given to us. We haven't been to Outback in years for the very reason I got on here to voice out. First of all our server who's name I can't recall and I can't locate the receipt right now was absolutely awesome. A younger girl who could not apologize more. I ordered the large sirloin med.rare. It came out still moo-ing. Sent it back. Still waiting for my wifes to come. She ordered it med well. Hers came back too rare. Sent it back. Mine comes back just ok. Cound have been slightly done more. But not bad. Her third try was like shoe leather. How anyone can send out such a steak is beyond me. Can't even cut into it. She decided the dog may like it. Sure, we were compted on her steak. But think about our whole dinner. How long we waited etc for her to not even eat. The manager was no where to be found. Oh, correction. The second steak, my steak came back....From my side was someone saying....french fries or baked, meaning who got what. NOTHING else. The last I ever saw her. I have never has such a terrible mean and to have my wife not eat. We left, gave the server a healthy tip to what the check would have been and more. I dont care if I have 10 gift cards, we will never go back to an Outback. Oh my the way, when we got home, I gave my best to cut that shoe leather steak for the dog and even he had a hard time chewing it

Disappointing experience. We have very little time to go on a date without the kids and it’s such a bummer when it ends up like this. The most minor disappointment was ordering lemon with our water and iced tea and then having to ask two additional times for it. As far as our entrees we both ordered the steakhouse salad. Mine, medium/rare and my husband’s medium/well. We ordered them as/was described on the menu with the balsamic blue cheese dressing. The lettuce was soooo over drenched in dressing that the leaves were slimy and wilted. Also, the dressing was bottled Italian vinaigrette (which the server claimed was homemade) and the blue cheese was just crumbled in the salad. There were so many red onions that they made up a quarter of my salad. The most important part of the salad was the steak, right? Well, I commented to my husband that the knives were super dull because they couldn’t even cut thru the meat. That wasn’t the case. The steak away so chewy that my teeth couldn’t get thru it either. I really tried. So much that when I finally decided to swallow the piece it only went half down choking me. I’m not one to send back my food but when the manager came around and asked I had to be honest. She said she would have them re make it. I’m the meantime our server stopped and I told her not to bring me another one. I was truthfully kinda grossed out, had lost my appetite and didn’t want to sit there eating for another 20 mins while my husband was done. She said “they already are making it so I’ll bring it out”. They did put the dressing in the side and left off the onions (which I hadn’t said no onions they just said they “noticed I took them off”. I just didn’t want as much but ok, whatever. ) The steak was unfortunately just as chewy. I finally had my husband try it so I didn’t feel like “the bitch” and he chewed that thing for 5 minutes and said “it’s like bubble gum”. I gave up. I didn’t want anymore so I wasn’t going to force it. The server came back and we told her and her response, “that’s why I’d never order medium rare. It’s too chewy but that’s how you ordered it and it’s a cheaper cut so 🤷🏽‍♀️.” That is so unfortunate that this poor woman has never had the pleasure of great medium rare steak melting in her mouth. They did take the salad off of our bill and acted as tho we should have been overly grateful they didn’t charge us. Ummmmm. 2 salads, uneaten and terribly prepared. I’d not think they should charge us. At least they didn’t but no other measures were taken. Still flossing raw steak out from...

Wife n I were running errands, and we were going to stop at Olive Garden but I really wanted a good burger instead of soup & salad so we went here as I believed a steak house "should" really know how to make a burger, right? WRONG. I ordered the Blooming Burger, Med Rare and noticing it came with a cheese (American) that shouldn't even be referred to as a cheese I asked for something different and when provided my options I chose the Cheddar. (a real cheese) With my side being fries. Wife ordered a Salmon Dish that was served over rice topped with Shrimp and her side choice was the Mixed Vegetables. We waited over an hour before we were served our dishes. (68 minutes) It was mid afternoon and not busy there at all. (now I know why) Wife enjoyed her dish except that her mixed vegetables were mostly sliced Carrots with a couple zucchini discs tossed in. My burger was completely over cooked, dry, and difficult to swallow when I tried to eat it. I'm not sure what the deal was with shredded lettuce (instead of leaf as it looked like it was pulled from a premade salad mix bag) and diced onions (instead of a whole slice) with a tomato slice the size of a Quarter being placed on it along with 2 small pickles slices, a few blooming onion petals and an eye dropper of "blooming sauce". When our server stopped to check on our food I mentioned the disappointment and pointed out it was way overcooked and it needs some sort of sauce because it was so dry. She was going to bring me more blooming sauce and after waiting 5 more minutes as the burger continued to die even more. I finally went out to my car and grabbed a bottle of hot sauce that I brought back in to try to give my sandwich some life, that didn't work either. She finally came back and asked me if I still wanted the extra blooming sauce I already asked for and I told her no, that NOTHING could help this burger. She asked me if I wanted something else or a manager and I declined, as I simply wanted what I ordered done right but I wasn't going to wait another hour for it. After attempting to eat what I was served I gave up as it was far too dry to choke down so I left it on the plate and asked for the bill. We paid our bill, noticing the extra .50 charge for Cheddar Cheese, on my horrendous sandwich and left, never EVER...

Servers were super nice, very attentive. Our food did take forever to come, like well over an hour after we had an appetizer and our salads- mine and my daughter’s steaks were very undercooked- which is fine- however, the manager came over as we were cutting them and when I told her they were both very under done she said “that’s how ours come, but that’s fine if you want me to throw them back on for you, go ahead and throw them on a plate.” -this is after we watched her go behind the bar and open the olive jar, grab an olive with her bare hands, eat it and throw the lid back on! Shortly brought back our steaks, same pieces of meat, completely the same undercooked meat, just charred more on the outside, and just walked away. Our server came over immediately and talked with us, saw our steaks and insisted to get her higher up manager, Michael. He was great! Insisted on remaking our whole meals to take home with us and apologized for his managers reacting to our complaint and once he saw our steaks, completely agreed with us! Had the first manager just been more like a manager and just simply said let me fix that for you or I’m sorry, or anything other than “that’s how ours come” like I have no idea what I’m talking about, the experience wouldn’t have been so bad. We had to wait almost an entire hour on top of the hour and a half we were there just to get our meals fixed to take home in a box. The manager never came back to apologize or anything just kept walking around aimlessly. My husband and I only brought our kids here because of a great experience and food we had an an Outback out of state 3 days ago (which my steak was cooked a perfect medium rare there) -noted to stick with another location in the future. But thanks to Michael the higher up manager for attempting to fix a situation that could have...
