LONG REVIEW - EXCELLENT STORE, WONDERFUL PEOPLE, KIND ATMOSPHERE!
I visited the Mentor location of the Cleveland Furniture Co. today. I am extremely pleased with how welcoming and friendly the entire staff is! As soon as I walked in the door I had to stop to admire the BEAUTIFUL showroom! All guests were greeted, and helped accordingly, while in a relaxed, good natured, family friendly, atmosphere.
The gentleman that first assisted me, Jacob, seemed to know just what I was looking for (even though I wasn't exactly specific when describing the type of chair I was hoping to find. š) I believe I said "I need a chair, but I have no idea what kind." š
Jacob showed me no less than 6 types of chairs and explained the features eloquently. I was able to decide what type of chair I wanted less than 10 minutes after walking in the door!!! For reference, I am known for agonizing over certain purchase decisions and I was anticipating this before arriving. Once I had decided, everyone helped to move the paperwork along quickly. I spent 1/2 an hour total time there and I was pleased with my purchase and extremely glad to have the rest of my day available!
I was also contacted by the delivery service within 1-2 hours after leaving the store. - The business delivers all of it's own furniture as well! They gave me a day and asked for my questions. They will contact me again the day before delivering, and again about 30 minutes before arriving. This communication is extremely helpful! And the delivery is being made quickly. š
I have a modest budget as the single mother of 2 children. I was immediately told it "Was no problem at all!" FYI: The store offers No-Credit Financing and the terms seemed very fair. Having choices, no matter the modesty of a budget, makes every difference when choosing places to shop. I believe it gives every person dignity. This is refreshing to see and very difficult to attain and sustain! Especially while building up family businesses these days .
This company went out of their way for me, and they did that because they truly cared!
While Jacob was thoroughly searching for the best deal he could give me, one of the owners, Jason, was moving furniture and working alongside everyone else in the store. He first gave me a warm welcome and then he and Jacob found me a price on 'THE CHAIR' I was hoping for! š
The delivery rate was wonderful and the total price fit my budget!!
Also! I saw many furniture pieces that are Made In The USA! š I believe many pieces come from right here in Ohio. They're really running a wonderful business!
I rarely write reviews and I hope that the length goes to show my absolute sincerity about my experience. This company cares, and it's rare anyone can say that anymore!
I am an actual customer, I had never been to one of The Cleveland Furniture Co. Stores previous to today. Now however, they will now always be my first stop! š

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI just want SOME of my money back after wasting it here. Negative stars if I could. I bought 2 side tables, coffee table & huge entertainment center AKA I spent a decent amount of money here.
1st, the entertainment center is more delayed than the rest. Completely fine. Covid messed with delivery times, I get it. But then the day of delivery for all other items somehow the entertainment center is miraculously with them. Only this piece is COVERED in what I assume is cigarette ash, smells awful. Then I look at it closer and it's clearly a Used piece - we ordered all new - there are dents, none of the cabinets are straight, there's patch work on the back from what appears the last person tried to use the feature that attaches it to the wall. After LOTS of back and forth (NOTE: if you have a problem, you have to continue to call and visit the store to get them to actually make things right), they attempt to fix it for free bc that item is no longer available - did an OK job, still not the best. They wanted to give me a $100 gift card to their store. I fought with them to just get $100 cash back since I paid full price for a clearly damaged item & won't be going back.
2nd, apparently there is a special way to clean these items.....never heard that before & nowhere in the paperwork or during purchase was this stated. I learned by cleaning it literally with only Dawn soap and water & the surface of the coffee table just looks gross - it has a permanent oily look like it's dirty. Even the service guy who came out was confused and figured it was a manufacturing error. They take it back, I am assured they will fix it for free because it has to be something wrong on their end. Get a call that they will not fix any of it unless I pay a few hundred dollars - I opted for them to return it & I'll unfortunately have to spend the money on a new coffee table that does not match the rest of the set elsewhere. On top of that, we are 2 adults and 1 senior dog so no kids or puppies to wreak havoc. This thing has scratches all over it from, I don't know what.
All in all, a big headache and an unhappy customer out of a decent chunk of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was very unhappy with my purchase and dealing with Cleveland Furniture Company. The actual sale went smooth. The delivery was on time and the delivery people were great. Most of my items seem to come from the showroom floor. I ordered two chairs that were identical, a couch two coffee tables and a lamp. One of chairs was obviously the chair from the showroom floor because it had the scratches on the arm of the chair that were on the chair that was on display. I have pictures of it on the showroom floor and it matched identical to the scratches on the chair that was delivered to me. They were okay with sending me a new chair and picking up the old share but insisted that I pay over $100 for the shipping of the chair. I already paid shipping when I purchased the furniture. The defective chair was not my problem and I truly expected when I bought a chair that I would get a chair that was new, and not a defective chair. Why at that point should I be charged a second shipping charge for something that was not my problem. I had to pay a shipping charge, in my opinion, because they shipped something from the floor that was defective. The second item was a table lamp. The shade was cracked and dirty. I'm not sure if it came from the showroom floor. They told me to return it. They said they had three more on the floor and they could exchange it. I took the lampshade back in and all of the lamp shades on the floor, were as bad or worse than the one that I was returning. At that point they wanted me to take my lamp back home and they would order a new one in. When it came in they wanted me to bring my lamp back in to pick up the new lamp. Again, I'm not sure why I have to jump through that many hoops when it was, in my opinion, their problem with shipping defective merchandise. I will not, and I do not recommend purchasing from Cleveland Furniture...
