Let me start off by saying we have always LOVED The draft! We were there for when they first opened on Alma School & the 60. Awesome place, the ambience and service . Fast forward to the new location of baseline and country club. Long story Short the service sucks . Honestly. The food is always good, the homemade chips are the best part. The food prices are kind of pricey BUT that's understandable with inflation today. Reason for my review is because we took a trip for lunch today. To start off we were shocked that a SIX piece Mozzarella stick appetizer was $15. We moved on for something else. It wasn't busy at all (I counted) there were 10 tables/parties. We sat down and the drinks came right away. It was then time to order - the menu gives the option for a vegan patty "ask about our vegan patty's". We did. And they didn't have any. This was not the first time but if you don't have it, take it off the menu. Anyway, we put our order in and it definitely took some time. I've waitressed for some time in my life and it wasn't somewhere that is as free wheeling as the draft. We had rules and had to handle tables in a certain amount of time or we had the chance of being written up/ fired. I know things take time but today just seemed like more time than normal to bring out a KIDS grilled cheese, Mac & cheese and a bunless burger with just onion, lettuce and tomato. We rolled with it. Again, we love the draft. Once we got our food our waitress NEVER came back. Not to ask about drinks, not to ask how our food was, just not at all. So if there were any issues she wouldn't have known. In the mean time, she was standing 6 feet away from us at the bar flirting with a male customer. I gave her time to finish her convo or even look over at us to wink or (with her face) ask us if we needed anything. Never happened. We were waiting for her to come over so we could order another kids grilled cheese to replace the vegan patty that they did not have. She never came. I had to get up from my table and walk to the bar to ask her if we could get another grilled cheese. She put it in and again she never came back. The bartender saw us (kudos and also not his job) but he came over and asked us if he could refill our drinks and take some plates away. Thank you sir! We waited about 15/20 for our grilled cheese. Once we got it we were ready for the bill. That was the most and fastest our waitress came to our table was to give us the check and charge our card. Today's experience really removed the draft from my top 5 eat out choices. Again, as a prior waitress I would never not tip someone but also believe you don't just deserve 20% / 25% tip. You have to do some kind of work. Hopefully this helps but hopefully either their waitresses change their attitude OR they find someone who actually needed a job and would be happy...
Read moreI visited this place three times. Based on first visit it was awesome and the people were so nice. 5 stars right off the bat to the point I returned the following week. It was like night and day. . .game was at 10 am just like previous week, but the water that is served in any establishment has a really really bad taste. I have ALWAYS provided my own water no matter what establishment I patronize. We live in AZ and the main drink of choice is water. Now keep in mind that the week before I bought the same water bottle (40 oz - blue) the week before with no issues. My second visit the server came to me and gave me attitude because we had Starbucks and my water on the table. I have never ordered before 11:30 when games are on that early. But because I didn't order anything within 30 minutes I got lip matched with a nasty degrading attitudes; then I was told to either order or I had to leave. Manager came over with a little less of an attitude and told my daughter and I we couldn't have outside drinks in the establishment. No problem; however the manager was the same person that greeted us at the door while holding the Starbucks and water. . .and nothing said. Confused for sure??? Then I was told I couldn't have my water bottle in the establishment or on the table because of health codes. LOL Really? First place in the 15 years I've lived in AZ that someone had ever said that to me in AZ; let alone the 41 years I've been alive. And yes I take it with me to real restaurants that are $100 plates, no fuss. Now I could have literally turned this into another way, but bigger person removed items; spent money there and enjoyed the game. Third visit because I wanted to make sure it was true of this previous treatment I received. Unfortunately a week elapsed because my team was on a bye early on. No Starbucks but same water bottle. Guess what no issues. . .needless to say enjoyed the game, spent some money, but never returning because of the poor treatment during the second visit and a personal treatment due to the color of...
Read moreHands down best sports bar in AZ. For starters, the place is a far cry from your typical cookie cutter corporate franchise (You know who you are buffalo wild wings). It also isn't employed by a bunch of high school kids or people just showing up for a paycheck. This is a local small business and the only one of its kind. What's more is that these folks truly care about their customers and actually take the time to remember your name. I have to say that everybody is fantastic but I'd especially like to mention that Craig and Olivia are simply superstars and keep me coming back every Sunday for, if not everything else than just for their great hospitality. Some key points from my experiences here.
The actual bar itself is clean and has a modern Ness to it that's very appealing to the eyes. I have been to many other establishments around the valley to catch football or basketball games and they all simply pale in comparison to here. This place definitely offers every amenity you could hope for; Good quality TVs literally everywhere you look, fantastic food, an immense assortment of beers on tap including a great selection of craft beers as well as various wines, and also some killer food and drink specials every day of the week.
I don't do reviews very often but I have seen a few off color comments among all the raving reviews and I just needed to chime in and set the record straight. I do not intend to stop patroning this hidden gem...
