Edit: in the end, Sephora online took my return without any hassle, it just took awhile. I have visited several times since and love their associates. Also, I would change this to 5 stars, but they donāt have so many samples in their stores. It seems like all the Sephora locations donāt give a sample with a purchase anymore.
Two stars for how lovely and friendly and helpful the sales associates were. I felt very safe and love the protocols they have in place to maintain safety.
3 stars deducted for Sephoraās corporate policies. This includes not accepting exchanges of new products and not fulfilling orders in a timely manner. I placed 2 orders in May that did not arrive until a month laterāin June. It is now July and they tell me, ātoo bad, I cannot accept this return because itās been 60 daysā I am an Ulta diamond member and Working my way to the the highest VIB level, at Sephora, since they have a lot of unique items. I have been disappointed with the slowness of the orders and the lack of samples And promotions promised with online orders. When I chatted with customer service about the missing items in my order, they said ā donāt worry, you can get samples in the storesā well, I was not offered samples with the items I got today, despite the fact that the associate could probably see the dozens of orders Iāve place in the last few months.
I will try to write a letter to corporate and will update this post to see what they say. I already told the associate I would not shop at that location of Sephora again and she didnāt seem to care. I'm surprised with all the good reviews about her, that she wasn't as good as they say.First I would like to add she was helping me for 25min. She wasn't the friendliest at first and I thought I would give her a chance. She stated that it's better if you come in with a blank face meaning no make up in order for her to color match. I just got off work and how many people actually come in with no makeup. We tried a few different concealers and then went in to full face and she went to look up what I had purchased before. I mentioned it would not matter because what I had before was for the winter and I would need a completely different shade for summer. She then stated well I can't really help you, you have make up on, it's like checkmate. The best part was when she said I have already spent a lot of time with you. Last I checked isn't her job to help the customer find what works for them so the customer leaves happy. I stated to her that I have never had an issue walking into Sephora and getting help before. She just stared at me for a long while and I said thank you for your help, and asked her name. Then she stated she was a makeup artist. If that is the case with Melissa then she needs to have a better attitude and better customer service and care about helping someone find what they need. Worst experience ever. Additionally, she refused to allow me to hold the perfume while continuing to shop, a practice I had not encountered before. Due to her unhelpful demeanor, I sought assistance from another employee with blonde hair, who was courteous and respectful throughout the transaction. However, I was deeply disappointed by the initial employee's behavior, which I found to be unprofessional.
During my recent visits to several Sephora locations, I observed that they were all crowded with staff members actively engaging with customers. However, my experience at this particular Sephora was notably different. The store appeared empty, lacking the lively ambiance present in other locations. I did not receive any greetings or assistance, which contributed to a rather disheartening atmosphere.
