Did a week membership as I was visiting from out of state. Definitely a good gym for people serious about health, fitness, and body building. It was relieving to not see people taking multiple sets of dumbbells and going off into a corner for 30 minutes or people sitting on machines and texting the whole time like at many public type gyms.
The contrast cold & hot plunge pools are great for recovery. The infrared sauna could be much hotter. Iâd suggest putting full sized towels at the entrance to that area in addition to or instead of at the entrance of the locker rooms.
My only two gripes with this gym is that every day of the 5 days I came it was way too warm and humid inside even though it was only 75 outside (felt hotter inside - not comfortable), and the music was pumping way too loud so much that I couldnât hear my own music on the treadmills. O and also at least 3 of the ~10 treadmills wobbled like crazy.
Overall Iâd recommend this gym for the mid 20s to early 50s fit-oriented clientele who likes to be around like minded people. I liked how many choices they had stocked for energy drinks, protein, drinks, and protein bars, and how organized it was. The cleaning crew was continually cleaning and kept the floors so clean that I didnât even feel weird walking around the locker rooms barefoot which I canât remember ever doing.
Also the gym is in a great spot to walk over for lunch at some decent restaurants at the Coconut Grove walk / pier or whatever itâs called. And the parking was very good each of the 5 days I went. I was able to quickly find even free spots.
Shout out to one of the workers Elder for going above and beyond with courteous service and filling me in on happening things to do around town...
Read moreWhen I first joined Anatomy a year ago as an all access member it was great! The staff was always so helpful and friendly, willing to go above and beyond for any of the members' needs. The members and the staff really made it feel like a real community, which I valued.
Today a year later so many things have shifted specifically in the Coconut Grove location. It no longer feels like a real community and more like a fake corporate environment. The assistant manager Emma makes you feel uncomfortable to even ask for assistance. Nothing about her leadership role comes off as genuine, nice and helpful. If she makes the members feel awkward I can just imagine the staff. This gym went from clean, friendly community to just unwelcoming and awkward when you walk in and she's there. She once even asked me to make a video in regards to another staff member to show my appreciation towards them to show at a meeting. The video was never showed and it's been months... weird. Not sure if this was even a real thing or she was just trying to mock/make fun of me?? I've brought multiple friends to the gym that have joined but we all agree that if the environment continues to feel like this we might as well join another gym where we feel valued.
I would like to point out the things I still do value at the Grove that keeps me coming back to this location. Always clean Machines/Equipment, Andrea Yoga class and the staff that does make me feel valued always willing to go above and beyond like Aaron, Sophie, John, Joe and...
Read moreEverything at ANATOMY and the people who work there excel in every which way. Marc Megna is the epitome of practicing what you preach. He is actually as kind and hard working and dedicated as he seems. He is the real thing and that is not often the case with owners. He takes time to talk with his members - he has done so with me - he has a genuine personal interest in how you are doing and the effort he puts into making ANATOMY what it is, is evident in every square inch of the gym. Tanner is a joy! I have known him since his first day at Anatomy and to watch him grow professionally and evolve into (who I think is) the best instructor at Anatomy has been a pleasure. He is kind and dedicated and motivating and truly wants to see everyone having fun while still working hard. Marc (who works front desk at Anatomy Grove on weekends} is fantastic. Always smiling, always remembers my name, always friendly and helpful. Shannon always goes out of her way to say hello to me and ask how I am - even though I have still not tried her spinning class! The very nice women who maintain the restrooms are always polite, friendly and work hard to keep everything pristine. I have been a member of numerous gyms in Miami and I can say - without hesitation - that ANATOMY is bar none, the BEST. Any gym can have beautiful facilities and the best equipment, but if you don't have the right people - the right CUL TURE - none of that matters. Marc and his team much...
