The only reason I’m giving this restaurant a star is because there’s not an option to give none. I recently attended a private event there and before I go into detail I just have to say that it’s an absolute disgrace this restaurant is located within a Ritz Carlton. Even though they lease out the space and are not “technically” part of the Ritz, the fact that it’s located on the premises, patrons who know the Ritz brand would expect the same service and quality as the Ritz Carlton brand. On the day we were there, we received everything but!!
I’ll start off by warning any readers who are planning to have an event in their outdoor area to make sure the “retractable roof” has been fixed. Being we’re in Miami, one of the first things we all know when planning an outdoor event is to account for a sudden rain shower. Everything was so beautifully decorated by the planner we were all just mesmerized and busy taking pictures enjoying mimosas or sangria which we had to ask for EVERYTIME...those of you who are familiar with the service expected at the Ritz, this should never be the case. From one minute to the next we found ourselves running into a spare space the restaurant has just adjacent to the outdoor. The rain just started coming down. It was not disclosed at the time the space was reserved, that the retractable roof had not been functioning for some time.
After a couple minutes when we realized the rain would not subside and the roof was not closing, we all started to help bring in the plates, decor, flowers, cake, cookies....ALL OF THIS WHILE THE RESTAURANT STAFF STOOD BY THE WAYSIDE! After the manager was called out because he must’ve been attending something more important to than the 40 person event he had outside, everything was moved indoors. The spare tables they had in the “spare” room were not dressed with even a simple tablecloth. They left us with the same dishes that had been rained on.
The band also had to quickly pick up and bring the equipment inside. They then took an hour break and had lunch while we all just made the best of the situation (by the way, they were contracted by the restaurant to play throughout the entire event)
As the food started coming out, it was cold and the bread was heard as a rock. Warning to anyone who orders spaghetti marinara “family style”, it was served in a stainless steel bowl that I might not even use to serve my dog. All in all, I would recommend you pick any other venue for your special event. As platinum member of the Ritz Carlton brand, I have to say I’m very disappointed at the deplorable service, food and extremely dissatisfied with how management handled the situation after the fact. I hope this review will be of help for anyone who reads it and that it sheds light for those in management for the Ritz brand so it doesn’t happen to...
Read moreI am giving a 1 star rating as there is no other option for a lower one. I had a private event at Isabelle's restaurant recently and unfortunately had a terrible experience. Please do not have an event here, its NOT Ritz quality at all. I personally know the events coordinator at Isabelle's which makes matters worse. I didn't expect so much to go wrong but it did. I had a planner for my event that I outsourced and reached out to the events coordinator of Isabelle's to discuss the day of plan. It was discussed and agreed upon to have the event outdoors since the restaurant has a retractable roof. In the event of poor weather we can use it and the party can remain out doors. Sounds fine right? Well it was never disclosed to use the roof hasn't worked in months!! The day of the event an hour in, it began to rain. Everything had to be moved inside. Not one of the employees moved anything they just stood around. All of my guests were helping as they saw my panic. Flowers, linens, a large backdrop, food all were moved inside until we personally had to tell the staff to help. All of the pastries and fruits got wet and were never replaced once we moved inside. Soggy food, terrible. We also had a live band which plays at the restaurant regularly we paid for which took over an hour to re set up inside once we had to move in due to the weather. The band left an hour before the event ended when they were contracted through the full event. Another issue was the "unlimited mimosas". We had to continue to ask the servers to bring out drinks, when they should have been flowing. The English muffins on the eggs benedicts were hard as a rock and could not be eaten and the spaghetti was presented in a mixing bowl. Lastly, my cake and cooks were melting as the restaurant do not allow you to store anything in there refrigerators. Again a mess and unacceptable! My mother complained to the manager the day of the event and they agreed to compensate us the mimosa package due to all of the problems. 2 weeks later we are still waiting for the credit and now they are stating they will only give us half of the credit since we stayed an extra hour and had a few more mimosas. So not only did they now change there agreement due to all of the mishaps on there part, but now they don't want to give us the full mimosa package they agreed to credit the day of the event? In my opinion, we should be compensated for HALF of the amount paid for the party not just a mimosa package!! Our next conversation will be with the hotel to advise them on the restaurant they have contracted in there hotel is a poor example of a...
Read moreI went here this past weekend to end my birthday weekend and was extremely disappointed in the food I was served. When you hear of a restaurant in the Ritz-Carlton you expect quality. I felt like I was served continental breakfast compared to it being buffet style. I had a nice server who was trying her best to make it a nice experience, outside was pretty but closed because of weather and the Alice in wonderland drinks were pleasant which got them the two stars. I was served French toast that is pictured on here in the reviews and everything on it was melted I had to ask the server to take it back so that I can get a fresh order and somehow it came back cold minutes later. We were a party of five and despite ordering different dishes everything was cold and nasty. When I spoke to the manager at the end after paying he tried to ask for me to come back but I would never come back after spending over $135 for two people. After I spoke to the manager two other parties came up to complain about the food as well so it wasn't just our table. I saw a big sign promoting their mother's Day brunch please do not bring your mom here if you like her even a little bit. There are plenty of other restaurants in Miami that is worth your money and your time. Just trying to save someone else from...
