Peacock Park sits right next to the Coconut Grove entertainment district, and its situs is simply the perfect corner waterfront park which caters to all, and quite busy on the weekends. It connects the world renown Bayshore District, and its modern luxurious condos with the historic Coconut Grove, which takes us back in time to the quaint shops and its arts jewel, the famous Coconut Grove Theater. Back in the early eighties, this was the one and only spot catering to entertaining visitors and locals with magnificent restaurants, shops and bars. The place to go on Fridays and Saturday nights. For daytime fun seekers, the strip and its surroundings, particularly Peacock Park which hosted the Coconut Grove Arts Fair, the bed race festival, and many other cultural events including reggae and Caribbean heritage celebration, and a lot more. I have now recently visited the park in two separate occasions and the park is as vibrant as ever, especially a lot of baseball training, frisbee throwing and even birthday...
Read moreIt is a very nice and lovely park. It's very large. There is a kids play area that has slides for small kids up to age two to five and another area that has bigger slides for older kids. They also have a swings area and some basketball courts. There is also a couple large areas for kids to play soccer or baseball. And after that there's a walking area that walks along the water. They do have a cool area where you can download an app and rent kayaks or a paddle board. That is very interesting I haven't used it myself but I would love to try it out. There's a restaurant in the area of the park and as well there is a restroom and a water fountain.
The only bad thing I would say about this park is there are a few homeless people scattered around. It is a bit concerning I wish there could be more security on that. It's just hard as a mom to let your kids run around freely knowing there's homeless people around and you don't know what their...
Read moreThis huge 9 acres family friendly park offers the best for everyone’s enjoyment. It has outdoor and indoor activities. The outdoor facilities include a basketball court, softball field, soccer fields, and a huge playground to play football, kickball or fly a kite. If you prefer indoor entertainment, check out the recreation building for a game of ping-pong or foosball. There you will find several computer workstations and free WiFi available.
The only downside is parking, which is a common problem in the Coconut Grove community but that doesn’t take away from visiting the park. My advice try to find a meter parking spot on the street, parking lot spaces are very expensive. If you can plan on visiting on a weekday instead of a weekend, parking is much easier to find.
Overall whether you want to walk, run, or spend some quality time with friends and family, enjoy and have...
