This place discriMinates against non US citizens , I had a 3 day guest pass via email from this place, when ı went there on the 12 th of January, the membership advisor told me that ı should bring an ID to activate it, ı Said ı come from İstanbul and my project was finished. I also told him that ı was a prior Equinox member ,and my membership was over and ı was going back to Türkiye soon. He let me see the club, ı took a cardio kickboxing class who was thought by a fat excessively overweight woman , ı also saw that the weight training section is too cramped , too many people in the field, and noisy . The shower room offers no towels and the clientele is no parwith Brickell Equinox , below average, the guys were chatting and staring at people rather than exercising which made me really uncomfortable
Since he told me that ı should bring an Id to activate and ı Said maybe ı should give a second chance , went there on the 12 th january to take a bodyworks class, when ı showed my ID , he Said it should be a US ID, he did not say that it should be a US Id when ı first came here, ı became a member to equinox whose membership is 200 dollars per month, they did not ask for a US Id , they accepted my Turkish one
On the guest pass they are providing, it does not say a US Id should be provided only you are required to be over 16 and you should sign a waiver of liability , they are discriminating against non US citizens , this is purely discrimination
The Gym is very mediocre, with below average quality with guys staring at you and making you uncomfortable , ı will never forget the cardio kickboxing instructor , she was seriously overweight with no muscles, only fat dangling on her underarms, stomach etc, ı guess no physically fit instructor wants to give classes at this place and these chubby people are teaching , a sports instructor should be Slim and fit
I would never be a member of this company even if ı stayed here longer , compared to equinox , it is very mediocre

If you have any intention of actually working out, this is not the gym for you. First and foremost, you can forget about ever being able to find the weights you need. Dumbbells, barbells, and plates are strewn randomly across the gym, downstairs, upstairs, and the roof/outdoor track. Re-racking weights is an unfamiliar concept here. The staff does not even attempt to enforce it.
If you think you'll be okay working out with just machines, you would be mistaken. Machines are constantly broken and rarely fixed. The setup of the gym also makes no sense what soever. Where most gyms group equipment by muscle group (i.e. flat press near incline press near pec dec/ leg press near hack squats near hamstring curls near leg extensions, etc.) LA Fitness just throws there equipment around haphazardly with no semblance to order.
On top of all this, this location is an absolute mad house. The gym is always packed at almost all hours, and far too populated for the poor selection of equipment.
Lastly, if you sign up here and happen to work a standard 9-5 day job, you should plan on blocking the number from LA Fitness or keeping your phone on silent. They call you incessantly, even after requesting they do not call you during work hours.
And if you make the mistake of signing up here, cancelling your membership becomes an enormous pain.
Some lesser points: Parking and traffic for this location are HORRIBLE, locker room is old and out dated, staff is extremely unprofessional, pool is out of service, track is tiny with incredibly tight corners.
Hands down the worst gym I have ever been...
Read moreGreat little gym. Not happy about the crowd here at this one, but a loud set of headphones seems to do the trick. This gym is expensive compared to others in the area. We only belong to it because i travel for business a great deal and there's one in every major city here in the USA. Hotel gyms are utter garbage so it's nice having a consistent gym with similar like-kind equipment, locker rooms, weights and machines. Very clean establishment and great hours of operations M-F.
They have a kidz club also which helps on those days i don't have someone to watch the kids.
I have never been happy with their weekend hours, wish they opened earlier for the early bird, serious, get-out-of-my-way crowd.
Edit: After coming here for more than half a year, I can now speak for some of these updates:
This LA Fitness is the most untidy LA Fitness i have ever attended, and i attend a bunch of them in my travels. The members leave weights everywhere. Clear on the other side of the gym. Dumbells in the machine section, etc. Not one person puts them back. Not one member. Not one employee. The only thing more frustrating than this, is a management team that chooses to do nothing about it. We have expressed this complaint to multiple people here and literally nothing changes. I tried very hard to NOT write a bad review and solve this at the source...too bad it...
