Ulta Beauty — Local services in Miami

I never leave bad comments for store but this is unforgettable ‘incident’ for the rest of my life and just came across a review which had similar experience with one of the hair stylist (previously also from the miracle miles one). I left a feedback via the email, Ulta sent me but never heard from anyone from the company. So I decided to leave a review here. Long story short, the hair stylist I had in Miracle Miles, now also in this store. I went to this new one but avoid her at all cost. So few things happened on the first time I tried Ulta Hair Salon:

charged me color correction (charged per hr) when I asked for total blonde.

Made me sit there for hrs then tried to talked me down to pick another date (it wasn’t walk-in, they called and confirmed days ago). I refused because I didn’t live close by and I have a trip next days.

Didn’t dry my hair at all!!! I walked out the door with wet hair…..plus my top was all wet on the back (she splashed water while washing my hair…) Walked out on a chilling evening in Miami

Telling me she cares about customers and deliver the best service when she later told me ‘she asked me to pick another date because she’s tired and my hair is too dark. Need to bleach several times so didn’t want to do it on that day. Lol’

Pour a whole tub of bleach on my head and drip all over my forehead which cause skin reaction and allergy for months afterward….my forehead is extremely dry now because of that.

Took her sweet time to do my hair so could charge me over 5 hrs on color correction (as I said pay per hr)

Honestly I don’t think it’s Ulta problem because I gave Ulta second chance and went again after a year. This time it’s perfect plus I heard them talked about her because they checked who did my hair before and how damaged is my hair….thinning / breaking /...

My mom (who has brown hair) came in for an appointment today to touch up her roots and get blonde highlights. The stylist, Marion gave my mom grey highlights and said “the grey will fade to blonde.” First of all that’s not true, and second of all we didn’t pay for a service that will eventually fade to the color requested. I paid for a service to receive the correct color today. Tomorrow, I am surprising my mom who is paralyzed in a wheelchair with an once-in-lifetime to Italy for Mother’s Day and my mom who had brown hair now has to travel to Europe with zebra-striped grey hair. I can’t believe the stylist is licensed in the state of Florida. Unfortunately for Ulta, my mom & I have each been getting double color processes on our hair for nearly 30 years. We are too informed to ever think for 1 minute that grey highlights will lift to blonde hair. Attached, is a picture of me and my mom with blonde highlights (what was requested) and the other picture is what was done today. The salon asked us to pay $350 for this service. It is so horrible, Helen Keller could have done a better job. Do yourself a favor and spend money for services that will deliver quality. You go to a trashy, low budget salon and you will get a low budget result like my mom did. This is precisely why I fly from Miami to LA to get my highlights done at Ramirez Tran in Beverly Hills. If you’re local, go to Sean Donaldson. This place is for stylists who have 2 left hands, are blind, and rob people’s time and money with awful services from poor stylists without talent. Ulta beauty river Drive/ Marion(stylist). She introduced herself professionally but yet with so much kindness! It was like a little get to know you/style talk in the beginning and she took the time to listen to every want and ideas. She listened to me and gave me her opinion which was on point and got instantly to work. She was kind, friendly, easy to talk to and its someone you can get along with just fine. She is super uplifting and she delivered! I asked for a pop and she did it alright and it came out perfect! She was working on my hair for a few hrs due to I did a lot of things, having super long hair, style, cut, I DID IT ALL !!! and not once did she try to rush, she never gave a face nor be tight as others would do, she was so professional and so sweet! and best part I left feeling like a brand new woman! she uplifting me like you have no idea! Not everyone is like this, I had one from another store at NMB telling me she can not style my hair cause she had one other client she was working on while it was my appointed time and not taking her time and yet pulling on my hair huffing and puffing! Marion is awesome as a person, employee and stylist. She is def a elite stylist !! so thankful for this amazing experience and Im one who very picky and demanding and she was amazing! made me feel comfortable and safe with my hair!! And was so kind to help her...
