I decided to stop by this new location after I finished post work-out at Planet Fitness on the 6th floor. I visited the week prior but ordered to go. As I’m visiting from NYC for the holidays, I was waiting on a ride from a family member and decided to enjoy breakfast here at this location. Upon arriving at the front register, I waited for 5 mins as the manager finally came to inform me that a woman walking up behind me with a portable kiosk was going to take my order. I gathered that maybe their systems were down? The woman didn’t introduce herself until I said something and was rather short with me. She was respectful but I can tell a bit stressed. Unfortunately the receipt machine was down and she asked me if I needed a receipt in which I politely said no. She told the manager “Mathew” that she jokingly cut her hand. They both laughed and I felt bad for the woman. As I walked away to the designated pick up station, someone called my name for they had my order where the manager/woman was standing. As I grabbed my order, my drink was missing and I asked for the drink. The woman turns to the manager and annoyingly asked who was handling drinks. I gather there was no structure that morning and no one was responsible for the drinks. She poured it for me and walked away. As I sat down, I was enjoying my food and about 15-20 mins in, a young male who was sweeping asked me “if everything was okay.” It was a bit strange but I took it as the location looking to deliver exceptional customer service. However, when I turned around upon his departure to leave, there was group of “5-6 corporate Chick-Fila employees” staring at me, as if my presence there overstayed it’s welcome. I received such unwanted energy from them, I thought I did something wrong. I asked the young man if a manager was in. He first said no and tried to handle it himself but eventually got the manager for me after I asked again. The manager came out on his phone casually and asked me to wait. After he got off his phone, I asked him if there was a time limit to how long you can consume your food in the space. He said no. I thanked him for the information and departed. I would recommend not having so many employees on the floor if they wanted to create a safe inclusive environment without visual intimidation. Also, to streamline better structures for coverage throughout...
Read moreI decided to try this Chick-fil-A at River Landing and ordered via a delivery app. Don't let the picture fool you. My phone takes fantastic photos, which is not the same I could say for the taste of this food.
Let's start with the waffle fries, which are supposed to be their staple product: the fries were raw, cold, not thoroughly cooked. I knew they would get a tad soggy in transit while the delivery guy arrived, but this is beyond that. I could taste the freezer. It was packaged carelessly, and I got three large waffle fries which took up all the space in the box, and the rest were loose bits here and there. So in total, I paid for three cold waffle fries. I guess if you look at the bright side, at least there wasn't too much cold disappointment left to eat?
Lemon Kale Salad: I suppose if you were a cow, you'd enjoy this on account of the amount of lettuce it has, definitely needs mor chickin. Also, for a Kale Salad, it sure doesn't have enough of it. You're better off buying the same salad at Publix, and it comes with almonds, apples, cranberries, and fried chicken chunks -- which brings me to the chicken nuggets: the level of sodium on these nuggets is nuts! I was parched after having just 3. It's like they drowned the chicken in ocean water, marinated it with beach sand, and then fried it.
The Mac & Cheese was like any Mac & Cheese. Not sure what the fuss is about; it's good, but House of Mac does it better. My recommendation is if you're going to stuff your face with cellulite-inducing comfort food, at least go to a place that can cook gourmet. I have to bring Publix up again, and they have a better and fresher-tasting Mac & Cheese. Chick-fil-A's had a carton box taste.
I cannot rate the service, and the food did arrive quickly (but it's not like they made the salad from scratch. It was pre-packaged). However, this restaurant just opened, so maybe I'll give them another try next time indoors; I'll have to figure out how to self-induce...
