TL:DR: Was made to do work we paid extra for, employee just threw away essential parts because they were hard to put on. Rude employees
As an autozone customer I was made an employee within 10 minutes of arriving. We decided to pay a bit extra at autozone for a battery because they include installation in the price. The employee who took out our battery was having a hard time and asked for our help which was absolutely fine. (Though odd as another employee was outside with him not even 10 seconds earlier and had oddly enough pointed at us right before leaving, I'm sure she just didnt feel like helping it was very hot) After helping him uninstall the employee taking out our battery asked us to go inside and get a bolt for him as he had broken one, again odd but fine. After looking for a minute or two we asked one of the five employees standing in a group (who couldn't be bothered to help out with the battery though we'd already been there 30 minutes now) what bolt we needed and we were again just told where they were and to figure it out ourselves. Apparently the employee had thrown away the bolt, they reluctantly found it in the trash and again told us figure it out. After a few minutes of trying to find it another employee finally came and helped. We went back out with him as he put in the last bolt and discovered not only had the bolt been thrown away the heat cover on our battery had been to hard to put back on so that was just thrown in...
Read moreVery disappointed last night when I went to get oil and a filter for my 2017 VW Passat. I was looking for 5W-30 that had the VW certification. I didn't see any on the shelf and went to the counter to ask for help. I asked if he had any 5W-30 with the VW certification and he said he didnt know. He would have to read every bottle like me. I asked him to look it up on the computer to see what was reccomended but that was too much trouble for him. I also asked for an oil filter. He rattled off a number and sent me down the aisle to look for it. There were several brands and I couldn't find the number he mentioned. I just got frustrated and walked out. I was the only person in the store, at the time, and your associate could not be bothered to give me any assistance. Very poor customer service. Read moreOn Monday Morning, June 9th I visited AutoZone, Middletown, DE because a battery I had purchased there at the end of 2023 was apparently not holding a charge. Bob Sparks, the manager, went to my car and performed a check on the battery, starter and alternator. Although initially the battery seemed OK, Bob noticed a small amount of battery acid on the surface of the case. He then got a new battery and personally installed it into my car. I am very impressed with the professionalism, great attitude and willingness to help the customer exhibited by Bob Sparks on behalf of AutoZone. This creates permanent customer loyalty and great publicity for your company.
