I could write a long emotional post about my experience, & how much time and money I've wasted at this business, but instead I'll write out the 17 week timeline of my $5,627 mistake & you can decide for yourself.
4/6 - First time at the store. Let her know I wanted to replace my stone with a peachy pink sapphire & sent reference photos. ($150 deposit paid)
4/10 - She text me she had two pink sapphires and to come tomorrow.
4/11 - Picked out stone. Said I needed new prongs and to pick ring up in 4 days. ($1,680.00 paid for stone and prongs)
4/18 - I text asking if the ring was done, she said tomorrow.
4/19 - I text her and asked if I could and pick up ring. She called and said it would be a few days.
4/24 - I text and asked if ring was ready. She said yes & she'd be in by 1pm. I arrive at 12:45 and wait 45 minutes before I finally just go home.
At 2:07 she texts & said to come by 4:30, I drive back to and pick up the ring. ($150.00 paid for ??)
I get home and look at the new stone in natural light. There's a huge inclusion in the stone that was not discussed, but noticeable in natural light.
I text her and she said she’d find new stone options for me. I said I would be open to a lab grown pink diamond.
5/9 - I text her and ask if she had found any options, she calls & said she found a mined pink diamond for me, which I decline.
5/20 - I text her and ask if she’d found any stones, she said she’d pick some up on 5/22 and we could meet then or the 23rd.
5/22 - She finds a pink sapphire. I asked if I could see a photo of it to avoid driving there if I didn’t like it.
5/23 - She sent a photo of the stone, I declined it. Said she would have pink labs for me to look at this week, & she needs me to bring back the current stone in my ring.
5/28 - I come to the store when it opens. I text her saying I was here, she ends up being 25 mins late.
I return the stone & leave the setting with her. I let her know I want a pink lab that’s around 2cts.
6/04 - She has a pink lab for me to see, I go in and agree to it. We were removing the halo around my engagement ring & I had some additional small diamonds she agreed to turn into a pinky ring for me.
She said it would take about 10 business days. I send a reference photo of the pinky ring and a reference photo of the claw prongs I want for my engagement ring She replied that she could do that.
She quoted me an additional $3,170 for the new stone and pinky ring.
I paid half at $1,585.00
6/24 - I text her her asking how the rings were coming along, she replied “all next week, just about done”
7/2 - I text her asking what day I should come pick them up, she replied “hey there, i will text you...it will be one day this week, just not sure cause of holiday, but will definitely figure it out
7/03 - She text me saying “all ready for you” I (wrongly) assumed she meant both rings. I arrive and see my e-rings cathedral arms have been cut off, the ring set very high and round prongs when I asked for claw.
I paid the remaining balance of $1585.00
I leave and am extremely upset about the cathedrals being cut. I don't trust her to fix it, plus she takes so long to do anything so I call another jewelry store crying to see if they can fix it. I pay them $477 to have the cathedrals reattached. ($5,627 invested total at this point)
7/25 - I text her asking about 2nd ring, she replied just about ready.
8/6 - I text her again asking about 2nd ring, she replied will be this week.
8/8 - She let me know the 2nd ring was ready. I pick up second ring, it didn’t look nearly nice as the reference photo.
About halfway through the drive home one of the diamonds fell out. I get home and throw it in my jewelry box before more stones fall out.
I wasn’t going to leave a review. I'm not a confrontational person & believe in second chances & being kind. Especially after another jeweler fixed my e-ring, I was ready to be done with this.
But as I watched that small diamond fall out of the pinky ring, not even 20 minutes after receiving it, I knew that was...
Read moreSo when I drove by downtown Middletown, I noticed a jewelry store a few doors down from Haggen Dazs, across from Sully's. I thought my eyes were deceiving me but no they weren't. Jennifer's Jewelry Store moved in July 1. They aren't a new business but they are new to me. Owned by Jennifer, she sells designer and fine jewelry, and sells gifts, too, including scarves, bags, and other creative and interesting things. If you need a repair, take to Jennifer's who will give you an honest and fair appraisal! I went for two repairs, one easy and one not so easy. What I loved was Jennifer's understanding frankness, and responsible work ethic. She knows what she's doing,is detailed, and has affordable prices!! Thank you...
Read moreJennifer took me in last minute to resize my new engagement ring- while I waited! I also brought in my wedding band and she was able to do that too! I am blown away by her kindness and commitment to her craft and passion. She is so sweet and extremely knowledgeable. Her shop features some lovely pieces, as well as plenty of material to create a custom piece with her expertise. I will be returning to pick up a beautiful pair or earrings I saw. I absolutely trust Jennifer with my jewelry, including heirloom items from my late mom and grandmother. Can’t wait to...
