Premium Sewing & Upholstery — Local services in Middletown

I called Premium Sewing & Upholstery to upholster a unique small couch that has been in my family for generations. Each of the arms and the back all ‘pivot down’ (see photos) and the ropes that operate the mechanisms were broken. Mr P came out to view the piece and was adamant that he would not ‘just upholster’ the piece but would REFURBISH it. After showing photos and discussing the loveseat/fainting couch with other upholsterers, I knew that Premium was the best choice. The loveseat needed interior repairs that could not/might not be completed by other people. One upholstery shop said they would not reinforce or repair - they would only re-cover. Premium repaired the ropes and ratchet assembly (I actually found a 1895 patent for the assembly). Premium rebuilt framing and reworked the springs as necessary, sending lots of pictures to me. They also removed old nails that had been put in by previous upholsterers, put in screws for strength, and touched-up the legs which are original to the couch. I am thankful that i found this company and that Mr P understood what would be needed for this special loveseat. He and his team did a fantastic job. The owner Fernando takes pride in his work, he listens to what the customer wants, he gives suggestions on different styles of fabric, where the piece of furniture will be in your home, if it’s in a sunny room and what other colors are in the room. The fabric is of the finest quality. We had our 30 year old recliner re-upholstered and brought it into the 21st century, the craftsmanship and attention to detail is amazing. The recliner got a beautiful facelift it looks and sits like a brand new recliner. Fernando also upholstered a custom cushion for our built in bench. We couldn’t be happier with the results.
