Mr. Moustache's Phone Repair — Local services in Midland

I had the pleasure of visiting the Midland location of Mr. Mustache. Upon entering I saw Josh diligently working away on another customer’s phone, despite that I was stillbgreeted promptly and welcomed in. I was advised he was just finishing up and I wouldn’t have to wait long. The office was quaint and had many “classic” pieces that you don’t get the opportunity to see everywhere along with a few items for my phone. I have had the pleasure of speaking with Josh over the phone many times prior to my arrival as I work in the wireless industry and have had customers of my own in similar unfortunate circumstances as mine.

Josh used to work for the same company I did starting over a decade ago repairing devices till that was phased out. I have now been with the company for coming up on 9 years and he has left behind a phenomenal reputation with my peers who had the opportunity to be colleagues with him. I was so very thankful for his honesty, sincerity and genuine wanting to help. I arrived with a phone I believed to have a customized glass to which it was only a screen protector! When he peeled away the screen protector he semi restored my faith in humanity :) He could have taken me for sure and my $80 however integrity is the core of the service that Josh delivers. You can tell he would rather be the good guy and save you money but will charge a fair price when you have indeed had an accident or simply need a battery replaced and many other items that can be repaired which allows you to choose to upgrade and not be forced into one. We live in such a here, now, throw away time. Josh preserves the “if it’s broke let’s fix it” attitude which I'm a huge fan of! Went there to get my iPhone 12 screen replaced, price was $150 just for this replacement🤔🤔🤔i don’t think that is “cheap” based on all these reviews and is fair at all when I see other people saying they got their iPhone screen replacement for half my price. could and should have taken my phone somewhere else and probably would of done a better job as well as cheaper. My screen has a nice purple tint now and my battery dies 2x faster than normal, my phone dies while it’s on the charger when I’m using it, and they also made some nice scratches on my phone trying to get the screen off. but hey atleast I can type normally again. Ridiculous, won’t be going to these sketchy shops again that is forsure. Quality quantity. Will be Taking road trips to apple from now on. I could make a few dust angels probably with the dust they have been saving around this place for years, wouldn’t be suprised if there was some in my phone right now.

HOWEVER MONTHS LATER::: When it’s a sunny or warm/hot day, my phone will get super hot where I won’t even be able to charge my phone. Making unusable to even use in the summer time without making it feel like a mini heating pad. Was in need of a iPhone screen replacement in Midland, Mi... I found a listing of three shops and called each. Josh (who as it turns out is the proprietor of the business) was very informative and patient with my questions on the phone... It wasn't until a couple days later when I knew I was going to be downtown (where the shop is located) that I came in for the repair... Despite being within a couple hours to closing, Josh was able to promptly repair the phone within 25 minutes... Beyond being very professional, prompt, and reasonably priced... His workspace feels welcoming and COOL... I would describe its vibes as a 1920s cobbler/watch repair shop? Stained wood-theme with retro electronic devices and cool memorabilia adorning the walls... without being overkill. Josh even uses a typewriter with carbon paper to fill out your customer information/sales receipt. I know that this isn't the #1 thing people look for when getting their phone repaired but, certainly puts a unique spin on it and softens the blow when you have to drop a bit of coin on a new screen or repair.
