If I could leave a -5 stars, I would. I’ve never left a review for any business but I was so outraged I felt compelled to leave this review. I recently had a very unpleasant experience at the Schwarzschild Midlothian location. I came to this establishment to purchase a David Yurman bracelet for my sister’s 30th birthday. I myself received a David Yurman bracelet for my 30th birthday from the website but when I came in 9-10 months ago the salesman I spoke to was very kind and pleasant; and I thought buying her bracelet in store would let her have a variety to try on and choose from. Upon entering and being helped by the store manager, Constance, I let her know my budget and what we were looking for. She didn’t seem to guide us towards bracelets in our budget, but that was okay because ultimately I probably would’ve gotten my sister anything you wanted. She tried it on in a small, it was too small so Constance let us know she would order a larger size and get in touch with us in a few days to let us know it was ready. I paid for it that day because I knew I personally wouldn’t have an opportunity to come at a later date, and my sister could pick it up later in the week. I also requested it be gift wrapped, so I could present it to her at her birthday celebration. A few days later we received a text that the bracelet was ready and wrapped. However when she arrived to pick up the bracelet they assumed she was there to pick up a repair and not a purchase. On her birthday she was excited to open her gift and immediately put it on. When I placed it on her wrist, it was way too large. In store we tried on the small, but our saleswoman went ahead and ordered the large without even trying on a medium in a similar bracelet, if solely for size. We took the bracelet back and spoke with a different associate. She allowed my sister to try on the medium sized different bracelet, and it for perfectly. The manager, Constance, who initially helped us made eye contact with us when we first entered the store, and as we proceeded to work with a new saleswoman never came over to figure out the discrepancy. I found that very unprofessional. Our new salewoman ordered the bracelet in another size and I asked for it to be rushed, since this was a birthday gift and already late. She informed me she would call me and let me know if they could expedite it or not. That call never came. She also let me know there was a price difference between the larger bracelet and the smaller bracelet. That they would reimburse me the difference when I came in to pick up the new bracelet. My sister went in today to get her new bracelet and was very unhappy with the service she received. Once again, Constance, our initial salesperson, saw her enter and made no effort to figure out the issue or apologize for the size discrepancy. The salesman that was helping her gave her the new, medium sized bracelet, and she returned the larger one. She asked if there was a price difference and he told her no. She told the gentleman that the saleswoman she spoke to last week, let her know there was a price difference. He said he would look it up. There was a price difference and he would get that to her immediately. All in all, I was very unhappy with the service we received. I did not feel welcome in this establishment. I felt overlooked and undervalued. I’m unsure if this was based on race or age, because my sister and myself are both Black, and look younger then we are. Also, although very well behaved, during our first visit my 4 year old son who has autism, was with us. I can’t help but think that if our skin was lighter or we came dressed in expensive attire , if our our experience would have been different. Well aware that our money spends the same as everyone else’s, I came to this store because of the large variety of jewelry they carry, and the hopes of receiving impeccable customer service. I was happy with the jewelry we received but extremely unhappy with the customer service. For now on I will be taking my business to Fink’s and I suggest you...
Read moreSo I would like to start this review off by citing a few things specifically about this location:
Everett was extremely patient with me and was willing to listen and answer all of my questions. He kindly listened and engaged me about movements, watch history, and what we both found appealing while Stephanie was sizing my Tudor. Stephanie understood exactly how I liked to wear my watch and sized it perfectly. I truly enjoyed the experience because of how intimate the exchange was along with the super laid back attitude while getting no pressure to make any sort of purchase at all. Less than two weeks later I came back to the store looking to have another watch I had recently purchased from a different store sized for my wrists. I explained to Todd I was leaving shortly for the beach and asked how long it would take. He simply replied, "I will be right back." Before I knew it he emerged from the back with the bracelet links placed perfectly the way I wanted. I asked him how much and he looked at me and smiled and said "no charge". He remembered me from when I picked up my GMT the week before and said that he truly appreciated the business.
It is rare to find this level of personable and authentic customer service. I just can't recommend enough this fine establishment. If you are ever in the area I would highly recommend stopping in the Alverser Plaza location and have a look around. Thank you to all who...
Read moreI received excellent service today from Todd Minnich in reviewing my antique family jewelry. In particular I was interested in restoring my great grandmother's wedding ring..a piece of living and loving personal history. My husband was with me. Todd treated us with respect, providing us with information and education beyond our expectations. He was thorough and straightforward as well as professional. When he left us, it was only for a few minutes and where he was going pertained directly to our business. In addition, when measuring my ring finger, he offered my wedding and engagement rings a "spa" treatment. When returned, my 40 year old rings containing my husband's mother's diamonds shone like never before! Todd gave us fair prices on all our proposals and never once pushed us to do more. Finally, all this was delivered with congeniality and a sense of humor that indicated an expert who loves his profession! Initially, we intended to visit 3 jewelers to get ideas and estimates. Schwartzchild's was just our 2nd stop and we were both so impressed we left my beloved ring there for repair. I highly recommend Todd and Schwartzchild's for work well done...we certainly...
