I can honestly say this is the worst experience I have ever had in my entire life in any pawn shop, as well as any business in general, along with the most comically surreal employees I've ever met.
Went into this place looking for a loan on some high-end firearms. Spoke to three different employees. First up was the guy working the gun counter. He was: uninformed, lazy, suspicious, ignorant and for some reason shadily gossiping to the manager as I waited in line to talk to the "loan guy". To say that this guy didn't want to listen to me after the first fifteen seconds is an understatement. Not only that, he got everything wrong. Its really hard to appraise an item when you don't (refuse to) listen and continually look up the wrong item.
Speaking of, the "loan guy". A middle-aged, gangly "gentleman" with gray hair and goatee, who was, despite me being absolutely polite and courteous, was: rude, absolutely obnoxious, unprofessional, and for lack of a better word, assholish. Why? Because he told me the amount that I was going to be offered for my firearms and I simply asked (honest to God, folks) "How did you come up with that amount?" Then this "gentlemen" proceeded to endure something that resembled an epileptic seizure to prevent me from speaking and/or asking any further questions so that he could tell me to wait for the manager.
Now this guy takes the cake. I wish I had the patience to describe in detail how childish this "man", the manager, was when dealing with the fact that he and his employees knew absolutely nothing about the merchandise they were handling. Either that or they are just a bunch of racist bigots looking at a person with dark skin and tattoos with $10,000 worth of firearms asking for a minimal pawn loan as a thief. After all, when I told the manager to go eff himself when his final offer of "Will $1,000 help you out today?" in true Les Gold Hardcore Pawn style, he threatened to "call law enforcement on [me] you". Why are you going to call the police? Because I said your offer was insulting? Because I itemized the firearms, serial numbers and their values on a ledger and said that my loan request amount of $2,500 was a fair deal? That's 25% which is pretty much a slam dunk in the pawn business -- you're a bad salesman or just really bad at math. You want to call law enforcement on me for that?
If you have anything of value, have any sense, and God forbid you happen to be a person of color -- go...
Read moreThere are many positives about shopping at Facet in Milford for jewlery-but the greatest is Mike, the jeweler. When you walk in and see Mike working, you know you will be receiving superior customer service.
I have been going to Facet since 2014, when I received a diamond engagement ring from there. Since 2014, I have exclusively shopping at Facet for my fine jewelry and trusted only Mike with my jewelry repairs. Since 2014, I have purchased 6 diamond/gemstone rings from Facet, and 2 Qualo bands. Mike has helped me with numerous ring sizes, a diamond replacement after I lost a stone, necklace repair, and jewelry polishing. He also helped me select a pair of wedding bands to compliment my engagement ring.
Mike is kind, honest, knowledgeable, respectful, and personable. He takes time to talk to you and to get to know you while you are in the store-and then he remembers you! When it comes to purchasing or repairing jewelry, there is no one that I trust more than Mike. He has been incredibly quick every single time. And I love that everything is done on site so my jewelry never leaves the store! Based on my experiences-which have all been so positive-I have recommended Facet (Mike) many times to friends and family members.
I truly appreciate Mike’s time, talent, and superior customer service. I hope that this review helps others know that they will have an exceptional experience if they choose to shop for jewelry at Facet in Milford and are lucky enough to see Mike behind the counter!
Edit: September 2024
I have continued to use Mike exclusively over the years for all of my jewelry and repair needs. I refer all of my friends and family to Mike also. I recently purchased a ring that I saw online at the Amelia location. Within one business day, Mike personally picked up the ring and sized it to fit me. It was ready for pickup before close that same day! Mike always goes above and beyond for his customers and makes me feel so appreciated every single time I see him or...
