I first attempted to book a room through the mobile site, but it was not functioning. I then called the number listed on the website, and my call was answered by a young lady in the Philippines. Now, I'm very well used to outsourced customer service call centers, and have no issue with understanding a wide variety of accents- but this young lady was very difficult to understand, and the call clarity was awful. I explained what I was looking for after a few attempts (she couldn't understand me either, despite my vanilla American English, spoken clearly and slowly), and asked how I could go about booking a room. She asked me for my credit card information, which I was hesitant to give over the phone to a foreign call center employee. She stated that if I wanted to hold the room, no card was needed if I was able to get to the hotel desk within one hour. I was in the parking lot, so this wouldn't be an issue. Once I hung up, I went inside and walked to the desk. The older woman with glasses was behind the desk, and it took her a short while to look up and acknowledge me. I explained to her that I had just booked a room, but needed to giver her my card information to finalize the booking, as per the phone rep. The woman at the desk did not seem interested in hearing me, and scrunched her face a bit, as if to show that I was speaking an alien tongue, and it offended her regal self (hey- she works at a HILTON, don't ya know!). She then tapped at her keyboard for about three seconds, and said that she didn't have me in the system at all (though I am a member), and that no such room as the one I booked was available, nor were any rooms available for the rate I was quoted. When I asked her what was available, she quoted me a lesser room for a substantially higher price. I got my information directly from Hilton's website, after clicking the web link for this very location, by the way. The woman at the desk was not at all interested in helping, and it showed. I have rarely witnessed such a forced air of superiority from someone whose job depends on the people one is treating with disdain. The acting was horrible, she was trying so hard to have that pseudo-Hepburn accent that her words weren't even coming out right... "Hwell, sir, hwe honly hauve h-this hroom havailable, hwould hyou liake to sheck in?" When I calmly asked why I would be given such disparate information regarding the room and rate, she just gave a few rapid blinks paired with a pursed grin, and said that she didn't know, in the same haughty fake accent. I stated that I was obviously getting incorrect information from one of the two women, thanked her and left for a far better hotel elsewhere. I can handle booking issues, not getting the exact room or rate that I want, etc.- but I cannot abide the phony, Millicent Howell malarkey from an old desk clerk that thinks she's in a real Hilton, and must scare off the riffraff wearing anything out of dress code. This is a glorified Holiday Inn, and Milford is not exactly a high class area (Cincy either, for that matter). Do yourselves a favor, and stay away from this overpriced, pretentiously staffed "Hilton". There are not only better options, but they are much cheaper, and you won't have to deal...
Read moreEven though the whole hotel is non smoking, we went through 2 rooms before getting to one that hadn't been smoked in. I'm not talking faint smell, I'm talking we could smell it through our three ply masks and the 5 minutes we were in the room set off an allergic attack in me. Manager on call confirmed he could smell it as well so he switched our room for us. I am staying here for a back procedure and will be on pain meds that lower my respiration and I'm allergic to smoke and have bad asthma, so this was especially problematic. All of the rooms have no smoking signs on them so I really hope they fine those people. They only supplied one replacement roll of toilet paper for the whole week. We had only 4 spoons and 1 fork. When we asked for more forks they gave us plastic ware. There are no ovens in any of the hotel rooms so cooking here is a challenge if you are like us and cook mostly baked meals. The walls are very thin here, our neighbors have small children and we can hear every conversation like they're in the room with us. The windows do not open just as a side note.
The one night staff we have dealt with is nice enough, if not a little unconcerned with these issues, but accommodating of our requests. The room was clean; covid safety is being maintained, masks required, no room service in the meantime, remote control is cleaned and put into a safe bag to be opened so you know it has been sanitized. No bugs or infestation. Third room smells clean. The free continental breakfast they provide is good and has variety and quality items, especially their Bagels. They have a small store downstairs too which came in handy when one of us forgot to pack a razor. The bed and pillows are quality, very comfortable and on the softer plush side.
Overall, it has some issues but it is not a bad place and I would recommend it for being an affordable and comfortable...
Read moreTwo things to rate the Room/Front Desk and next the Pool.
First the room. It was ok. A little worn and not very clean at all.TV screen in main area had fingers prints all over it. Kitchen cabinet doors half falling off when you opened them and some toys left from past guest I guess. For one night we would get through it, THEN ALL HELL BROKE LOSE. We have children and grandchildren and this night we had three with us. We have always worked hard to respect our neighbors when it came to noise of kids running and playing and being loud. 9pm we have always toned our gang down to respect other guest. At 11PM our neighbors were out of control. Top and side. Four calls to the front desk and we are told sorry ( We have a lot of kids tonight ) she even told us after the third call she would go up to check personally. On the fourth call she admitted it was very loud and received other complaints and she was sorry but they are full or they would move us…. Oh Yea No Security On Site! 12:30AM now new guy at front desk and he had a real attitude. When my wife was talking to him he said with a nasty tone I heard about your calls and the noise WE HAVE A LOT OF KIDS TONIGHT WE HAVE HAD OTHER COMPLAINTS NOT MUCH WE CAN DO. So we told him we would just call the police and that seemed to get his attention. We gave him 15 minutes or else. Well at 12:45 PEACE.What a nightmare. I can not even imagine anyone else staying here under these circumstances and going thru this.
Pool was chlorinated so high all the guests were complaining about their eyes burning and you could taste it in your throat. As for the HEATED POOL….What a joke ice cold.
Do your self a favor if you stay here bring eat plugs and stay out of the pool unless you’re trying to kill any kind of...
