I'm sure it may have been a rare occasion, but I've just had a really rough time with Men's Warehouse. It started out fine. I ordered a custom suit for my wedding 3 months ahead time. Now, I'm new to all of this stuff and i have no idea how long it takes to make a suit from scratch when it comes from China. After 2.5 months of waiting and no phone call saying it was ready, i called thinking that it had been a long time without hearing anything. I called and asked about my suit and they didn't know where it was. It took two days for it to be found and i then was called and invited in for the fitting. I head in, on the later side because of my job and ask about my suit. They find it, give it to me and I'm lead to a fitting room. I change into my suit, come out and no one is there. I have no idea what I'm doing. I wasn't given any instruction other than to put it on. I walk over to the mirror, check myself out, then head back to my waiting room as no one was around. I change back, then decide that i should put back on because I'm sure that someone should help me with additional fitting stuff. Again i walk around, check myself in the mirror, but still I'm on my own. I change back and say screw it. It's good enough i think (again, i know nothing of fancy clothes). I start walking towards the front and the manager notices me and asks if my pants were hemmed if i was helped. He politely asked me to put everything back on so i can get fitted. He starts fitting me with one of his employees showing him how to mark changes and tailor markings. Now i feel bad because it's late and they should be closing, but no one had helped me up until this point. But then the employee straight up said that it's late and he doesn't want to be doing this. I'm sorry that I'm such a bother to you sir. I didn't say a thing. I shot the manager a look and when we were done, i left. I may be a rare occasion of poor service, but it left me with a poor taste in my mouth. The manager was great and helpful, but it was a string of unfortunate events.
Update: they asked me when i wanted to pick up my suit for my wedding and, again, not knowing how long they would need, i gave them as much time as i could give them. I told them two days before my wedding would be okay. They assured me that it would be ready. Fast forward to that date and i call, checking to make sure it was done before i made the trip to go in person and I'm told it hadn't been started yet and i would get a call back. Two days before my wedding, and it's not done yet. They left me a message saying that because of Fridays it wouldn't be done until the following week. I just about flipped out. I called right back and asked about my suit Andrew was told that it would in fact be ready by 3pm the next day. I went in and picked it up. Everything looked great and i had everything before my wedding day. This much is true. But i had to check up on them every step of the way, there was poor communication, and nothing happened when it was supposed to. It was all a bit too close...
Read moreI recently used Men's Warehouse for my wedding. My wife and I were excited to learn that they worked together with David's Bridal, where she was getting dresses for her bridal party. I needed 7 suits in total for my party and the two fathers. Looking back, I wish I had walked away from that very first meeting with them. I didn't recognize the warning signs of their poor service. Every step of the process was a comedy of errors. We wanted to match the groomsmen's ties with the bridesmaid's dresses. They were all pastel colors, and it was springtime, and we were initially told by David's this was going to be possible, because David's and Men's share the same color patterns. Come to find out Men's did not have the colors, telling us couldn't match solid colors, only patterned/textured ties. So we were on our own, having to hunt down all the ties ourselves from various vendors. We're talking basic pastel colors here, nothing crazy.. The branch I went into had zero communication among it's employees, I felt like everyone I talked to I had to explain every detail all over again. So, lets talk pricing. This was a whole entire issue to itself.. I got a package deal for each suits at $159.99, which included a $40 credit for using David's. Great deal, I thought. A couple weeks went by, and I get a call from one of my groomsmen, who said he had paid for the rental, paying a total of $210.. When I went into the branch to talk to the manager about the mysterious $50 overcharge, I was given no explanation, other than a $10 service fee and $12 in tax.. The manager, who is no longer with them, looked me dead in the eye and said "so what are we talking here $175? $180?" I'm thinking to myself "just give me the deal I was originally priced at".. I was also told they would waive any late fees for members of my party, living out of state, who did not live near a Men's Warehouse, since they did not have easy access to getting sized. Sure enough, one did get charged, leading to another phone call to the manager.. If I wasn't on top of them, they would have overcharged every member of my party.. The list goes on and on, my wife's father picked out a tie when he went to get sized, as it was part of his package. When he went in to pick up, they made him pay for a tie separately saying he didn't have one. And last but not least, one of my groomsmen could not try on his suit, due to circumstances so he had to call in his sizes and have someone pick it up for him. Sure enough, come the day of the wedding, his pants were too big. He needed a 30x32x34 and he was given a 36x38x40.. no big deal, he just went to the nearest Men's to replace it the day of the wedding.. Turns out they did not have the size. Meanwhile the rest of the groomsmen were getting ready to start taking pictures, and we were held up by Men's Warehouses' laughingstock of errors one last time.. There are many other issues that we ran into, but in the interest of your time the bottom line is please do yourself a favor and avoid using...
Read moreOrange store location = 10....Milford store location = 0 OK, here you go...the truth. This past Sunday, we originally started by going to the Milford store to order 11 tuxedos for a wedding. We walked in, looked around, immediately headed towards the tuxedo section and started our own search and comparison of those on display. After 10 minutes, no one approached us, perhaps busy with another customer, then customers left with or without their purchases. Well, another 10 minutes goes by and still hardly a look in our direction. The final straw was, one associate, in the tuxedo department finished with his customer and instead of helping us, he felt it was more important to go get a box for mailing a jacket out, instead of helping a customer (Us). Another associate said to him, can you help those customers standing near the tuxedos, he glanced our way and continued to work on his mailing project. Obviously no desire to help and no positive attitude towards customer service. WELL, after realizing customer service is NOT what these associates have been taught and realizing they could care less...we walked out and drove directly to the Orange store...5 minutes away and gave them the $2,200.00 worth of business that Milford could care less about. We ended up renting some of their upper tier tuxedos. MILFORD....your boss should read this review. So, now let me tell you about the Orange CT location. Upon entering, we were immediately approached by 2 very professional associates. Explaining to them ideally what we were looking for and immediately, the 2 of them went into action, showing various options, explaining the difference between the various tuxedos, color options, recommendations, etc. The service exceeded our expectations. Within one hour of undivided attention and service, we put thru an order for 11 tuxedos, 3 measured on the spot and 8 more to be done this week when the other groomsmen are able to do so. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Orange store well over Milford. Milford might be a larger store, BUT if you cannot get service or if the associates CLEARLY could care less...then what's the point? Milford should be embarrassed and Orange should be the store you 1000% go to...no questions asked. Orange 100 points....Milford 0 points.....imagine that? a ZERO because in 25 minutes, not one person even said, "Sorry, we will be with you in a few minutes" Instead associate boy decided to pack a box instead of obtaining $2,200.00 in new business. I now will also post this to Milford store reviews, I am sure the Milford Manager/Owner, will love this one, but sorry, it's 100% the truth....no reason to lie...none what-so-ever....ORANGE, you should be very proud of yourselves....GREAT JOB!!!!! We look forward to returning 3 days before the wedding in October. Sincerely, Don...
