This company is a disgrace. DO NOT buy your furniture from any Pilgrim location (particularly Milford CT), you're better off buying used furniture. The furniture is cheap and good customer service simply does not exist. After my fiance and I purchased our first home, we were so excited and wanted to fill our place with quality but decent priced furniture. After doing research on the company website and in person, Pilgrim promises quality furniture. After just a year of use, our sofa broke and fell apart in two places. No clue how because we don't have any children. The sale representative that sold us the sofa insured us that if we purchased a "Furniture Protection Plan" we can have our sofa fixed at any time and if the tech couldn't fix it they would replace our sofa. (I have the contract in my hand). So we called the company Pilgrims deals with, and they have been so nasty, rude and unsympathetic. I have been going back and forth with this company for over a year, I even ended up in the ER from a migraine after a nasty 1 hour phone call. The first tech they sent out said there was nothing wrong with our sofa. Crazy thing is I had pictures that I had previously sent over where you can see that the sofa is visibly broke. Three techs later our sofa is still broke. We had a manager straight up tell us, "we don't give out new sofas, it's just not going to happen sorry". Each time a tech came to our home I had to take off of work. They only give you a 7 hour time slot. I have called the Protection Plan company over 20 times and spoke with managers. I have been dismissed, hung up on and ignored for months. I have also called Pilgrims to see if there is anything that can be done for us, they told us to have another tech come out. Our sofa is so uneven that our self cleaning vacuum gets stuck underneath. Dealing with Pilgrims and their warranty plan has been a complete nightmare. Now that they have our hard earned money, we don't matter. I'm embarrassed to have guest over because of how the sofa sags and this clearly doesn't matter to them. We have been up and down the east coast of Connecticut and even into Rhode Island searching for quality furniture that matches both my boyfriend and Iās style, needs & budget to no avail. Discouraged wasnāt even the word. Exhausted, frustrated and overwhelmed, we ended up in Milford on Boston post road over an hour away from home. After stopping at several other furniture shops and making a total of 16 thousand dollars in purchases that I just wasnāt happy or comfortable with, by luck or fate we pulled into pilgrim randomly as passing by. Walking in I was greeted by Annmarie whom I told I was just looking (at this point I was over speaking with anyone I didnāt want to be sold, I just wanted to be left alone and to see if they had what I was looking for.) Little did I know that Ann Marie knew what I was looking for better than I did. š She understood the assignment ā She was quick to bring me to all of the couches on the floor fitting my description of what I was hoping to find and was extremely knowledgeable when it came to any questions and concerns. I wonāt get into details as it is too long to type out but letās just say that James also put in about a half days worth of work to make this purchase possible for us and was able to answer all of my questions and concerns regarding financials with ease. These two are an amazing team. I knew I was in good hands here at Pilgrim and at this point was completely satisfied and confident with my new purchase so as much as I felt bad doing this, I returned all of my furniture from a few days prior from the other stores. Aside from this review he was great!! Amazing guy. Ow, on tot he meat off issues. I ordered furniture way back in January and it has still yet to arrive. Iāve gotten 4 different stories from a few managers in regards to where the furniture was, when it would arrive to them and then to me. Well weāre in July and I have yet to get my product. Now, I understand we have a world pandemic going on and things got all screwed up, but 6 MONTHS! This is just unreal to me. Iām am so Over it. I went to 5-6 other furniture stores in that area and decided to go with Pilgrim and unfortunately it was a mistake. Now, Iām not saying they have bad product, because the few pieces I got we really like. What I am saying is that itās been 6 months! Imagine paying for a car that you canāt drive, a home you canāt live in or you bought furniture that gets no use because it never came! Iāve never felt like this about an experience and I donāt only give bad reviews. I review honestly and with integrity. The product is great I just have this issue that I canāt shake 1 but.
