I highly recommend Orangetheory in Milford for its engaging coaches and overall positive studio atmosphere. As a first-time OT member this past year to any Orangetheory, I find it hard to compare it to other locations, but from what I’ve gathered, there is room for improvement.
Firstly, the studio maintenance needs attention. Over the past few months, I’ve noticed frequent equipment malfunctions. Whether it’s an issue with the equipment brand or studio upkeep, it becomes evident when you find yourself avoiding certain machines due to reliability concerns. A shift from reactive to more proactive maintenance would be beneficial.
Cleanliness also needs to be addressed more thoroughly. The hanging yoga mats (after you read this please go look at the accumulated dust) and floor dust should be regularly (several times a day IMO) cleaned, especially considering the amount of ground exercise and sweating involved. This is crucial for preventing the spread of germs and potential bacterial infections like staph or ringworm.
The staff is generally warm and welcoming, creating an enthusiastic workout environment. They remember names, share jokes, and encourage return visits. However, a few staff members seem disengaged, particularly one individual at the desk who appears almost bothered by interactions. This is not representative of the generally fantastic team here.
Lastly, my feedback extends to the corporate level concerning their pricing strategy. The membership fee of $150+/month is a lot of money, and it feels excessive to pay additional fees for events, especially when these include a generic, overpriced t-shirt. For unlimited membership holders, all classes should be included, with extra charges applying only to optional items.
Despite these points, I give Orangetheory Milford 4 out of 5 stars. I love the concept, the location, and the overall offering of the studio. Like all things, there is always room for...
Read moreMy wife and I were interested in starting an excessive program to get in shape. We saw the advertisement for orange theory for a free introductory class. We figured that was perfect. We would be able to try it and find out if it was right for us. We filled out the form online and set up an appointment on Thursday night for a Monday evening appointment at 5:30. On Friday we got a call to set up an appointment. I informed them we already had set an appointment. No problem. Monday morning i got a call at work to confirm i had to get there a half hour before and must stay a half hour after class... I, no problem. They said i see you live in prospect so that will be $28 per person, see you tonight. Wait a minute. I asked and she said we were out of her district so we would have to pay for the session. I told her I work in milford and picked this location so I could go after work on the evening. She said, oh you work in milford? We can give you the free session than. She asked if my wife also works in Milford. I told her no, but she comes down here all the time. She says, no problem. I got two more calls through the day. One told me my wife hasn't filled out the consent form and she refused to answer their calls. I told them I was sitting there when she filled it out and that she didn't refuse to answer their calls, she is a school teacher and can't take calls during class. Finally we were all set. I got out of work early to be sure to get there a half hour early because i was told if I wasnt there a half hour early they could refuse us. We finally got there, my wife was already there and they told her it would be $28 dollars because she has no proof she worked in milford. I told them I work in Milford, and then was told that both of us had to work in milford. We told them to cancel our session. I honestly have never seen a business try so hard to drive...
Read moreThere is so much that I love about OTF Milford, I don't know if there is enough space for me to write it all down!
With regard to the workout itself, it's never the same, it's always challenging, and I get a total full body workout in one hour. The focus always changes (endurance, strength or power - and sometimes a combination of all three), and my body never gets complacent. The equipment is state of the art and the workouts are for all fitness levels. The Milford studio is top notch! The owner is amazing. He knows all the members, reaches out to us individually, and is always asking us how he can improve the experience - which I don't believe he can because it's perfect.
The coaches are unbelievable. They teach these classes to a packed house, catering to three different fitness levels, three different workout areas (treadmill, rower and weight floor), and know us all individually. How they are able to focus on each member with all that is going on, I have no idea, but they do it well, and we appreciate it! They are so dedicated and passionate about what they do and will spend much of their free time out of the studio with us to help us improve and push ourselves.
The front desk team/studio manager are equally supportive and passionate. They make us feel welcome every day and also take the time to get to know the members on a personal level.
There are always special classes and out of studio activities, which many of members participate. There is so much motivation that gets me to the studio – even if there are days I have no energy to do so.
I've met some great friends at OTF Milford (members and staff), and truly feel like we are ALL a family. I've made a huge dent in my fitness goals and looking forward to reaching them with the help of OTF! My decision to join OTF was the best decision I ever made. I can't imagine being...
