Our checkout clerk was very nice. We found 3 really nice dresses for my sister at great prices - they were on sale, got to love that. But, the ladies fitting area was dirty and smelled terrible. We checked every room hoping to find 1 that was clean, but the carpets were in serious need of vacuuming in every single room. And just the awful smell of stinky feet. I couldn't wait to get out of there and breathe fresh air. The solution would be to remove and replace the carpet with laminate flooring and to thoroughly wash the walls, ceilings, doors, doorknobs, hooks, and benches with Mr. Clean or another good sanitizing cleaner. And then the area needs to be maintained with daily cleaning, at the very minimum, the doorknobs and floors should be cleaned daily. The fitting area also needs a new paint job, not only was the color drab, but the painting was not complete as many spots around the room dividers and the ceiling were a different color. Not sure if it is the Millcreek Mall or JCPenney who is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the fitting rooms, but regardless of who is responsible, this reflects poorly on the JCPenney company. I was glad that I was not shopping for myself because I would not have been willing to remove my shoes...
Read moreI would give them zero stars if that was an option. I have been a JCP customer for 20 years. I have had a credit card for that long with them. Also have never had an issue with them until yesterday. I went to return a ring or get an issue solved with a ring and I talked to the manager, Cheyenne, the other store manager Would not even come down to speak to me When asked, I am going to say is NEVER buy jewelry from them I talked to a retail manager for about 30 minutes before buying my ring, asking all the normal questions. She advised me that Silver does tarnish Overtime I have had this ring for only 3 1/2 months It is completely tarnished. It is never been cleaned with anything other than soap and water. The retail price was 1750. I got it on sale for 620. I am advising anybody that goes to get to do it. I’m also posting on social media of my interactions with these people because it was absolutely insane to me that you can spend $620 of your hard earned money and within three months the ring is completely ruined and brown, and they would not do anything at all about it, horrible customer service experience. I am just simply writing this post to advise others to not buy from them. I would not want anything to happen to anybody...
Read moreI have been a JCPenney cardholder for awhile now. Yesterday, I was in Erie with my elderly mother for an appointment. She unfortunately had an accident and needed new clothes. She picked out shorts, a shirt and a pair of underwear. When we got to the cashier (at the front in the Women's section), we lined up next to the sign that says line up here. The cashier (an older woman with dark hair and glasses) kept looking at us while she finished with her current customer. Meanwhile another customer came up but stayed to the side of the cashier. When the cashier finished, this other customer cut in front of us and the cashier did not even care. So...we waited.
When it was our turn, my mother handed her the price tags from the clothes she picked out and asked for a bag to put her soiled clothes in. The cashier rang them up and never asked of us for our phone number, if we have a Penneys card, etc. I was literally holding my card. I asked if I had any bonuses and she looked like I was inconveniencing her. She took my phone number and realized I had 4 bonuses...then her attitude became a little warmer.
Profiling your customers is not a good look. Thankfully the Penneys near me has never treated me this way...but Erie...you have got...
