I had an outrageous experience with the grooming department at Millville today. I scheduled an appointment to bring my 2 Cocker Spaniels in for their grooming - our first time there as we recently moved to the area. When my husband and I arrived, we were asked for proof of rabies vaccine - we were never told to bring that when we scheduled the appointment, but fortunately they were able to call the local vet we use and got the necessary info. They then asked if either dog has any health issues. My one pup has epilepsy and we manage it with meds and neuro vet visits. We were then informed they could not groom my pup as grooming him with his condition was a violation of corporate policy. WHAT?!?!? One of the explanations was "if he gets a snip and starts to bleed and we have to take him to a vet, the medication might not mix with his meds". Again, WHAT?!?!?! If he got snipped and started to bleed, wouldn't you just call me?!?!?! My dog is a 5 year old Cocker Spaniel - OF COURSE he gets groomed. P.S. - one of the "techs" told my husband that I was asked about health issues when I made the appointment because she "over heard" the conversation - effectively calling me a liar because that question was...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with Grooming services at this location. At the time I made the appointment, I gave the details of my dog's breed, weight, age, type of cut (scissor-out) I wanted. I was quoted a price of $54.
When I arrived for my appointment, the technician said 'they don't do scissoring.' That is something done at a 'private salon' and she wasn't sure how to handle with her shears.
When I picked up my pet later that morning, the price tag, before tip, was $77! I asked what happened since I was quoted $54. The reply was pricing modules had just been increased, my dog was a 'premium cut,' and there was also a 'materials fee' added on as well.
My pet's cut was way to short/shaved, choppy, uneven and she didn't have that fresh from the bath fragrance.
I gave them 2 stars only because they were able to schedule an appointment within a week. Lesson learned - they have appointment availability because they are not that good, and expensive to boot.
I will not return here for grooming services ever. Millville Pet Stop is the place to go, but because of their excellent services, you need to book...
Read moreYesterday, I tried to schedule a nail trim and bath appointment for my dog. When I called, I was told that they could no longer accept us because my dog had previously been difficult for them to handle. I understand that my dog gets very stressed during nail trims, and I even offered to stay with him to help keep him calm. Unfortunately, they refused my offer. I know that if I were allowed to stay with him, he would cooperate.
I’m disappointed by how the situation was handled. As a paying customer, I believe I deserved a better and more solution-focused approach. I was willing to work with them to make things easier, but instead, I was turned away. In my opinion, a truly professional team would have found a way to handle the situation with care and flexibility. Sadly, this experience has changed my view of Petco, and I no longer see them as a professional or...
